Nice vid! Mines turning up Tuesday, it's a 2019 so not sure if it has a heat pump but I guess I can turn the heating on anyway?

No.. Heat Pump sadly but a resistive PTC Heater which is very good but will not save you Range as a Heat Pump with built in A/C will. Still a good heater but use the heated seats as much as possible as they only use a tiny bit of Power. You’ll still love it I’m sure.!

EVs are ace. I do this on my i4. Nothing better than climbing into a toasty car on a cold morning. I set the schedule for every morning.👍

The heat pump system was actually pioneered by Nissan, who applied it to the Nissan Leaf in 2012. The BMW i3, Volkswagen e-Golf, and Kia Soul EV (1st-gen) and Hyundai Ionic Electric soon followed.

the Tesla Model Y with the heat pump system improved its winter range by 10% compared to the equivalent model without it. For the Kona Electric, that figure is 18%. It’s quite a bit more efficient than the Model Y in that regard.

It’s just far better by Tesla. I guess they have simply bettered it👍🏻 I’ve owned a 2013 and 2015 Leaf and neither was not as efficient.

Meanwehile, today in London yet another electric bus burst into flames for no good reason. These electric buses have been a total disaster all around the world.

I’ve just fact checked. It was NOT an ELECTRIC BUS but a Diesel Hybrid and the fire was coming from the Diesel Engine bay. If it was a Full Electric Battery powered bus it would have been 60 times safer. ….you may apologise when you can find the man in you.

If you are going to be an fool and charge your EV inside your garage, and even worse if inside your garage is actually inside your house, then be less of a fool and install a smoke alarm over your car that is interconnected to the other smoke alarms in your house. That way, when the battery goes into thermal runaway whilst charging - and don't delude yourself that "that will never happen to me" - at least you will be woken up so you dont burn to death in your sleep. And despite what Musk says, it happens to LFP batteries, too. If you have that smoke alarm at least you'll probably have 15 minutes to get your children out of the house and to safety UPWIND before your house burns to the ground.

I don’t know personally of one EV FIRE in five years of ownership, thousands of known owners, I run three forums along with this KZitem channel and not one has ever been reported or spoke about. I’ve owned 3 used EV’s and one nearly new which are ALL still in use with other owners. I guess you feel that ICE cars are safer… you are very very wrong.

@@KKandEV Well I havent seen one ICE fire in now almost exactly 50 years of driving. That proves about as much as your experience.
