I also installed the update and is great. One thing though that the fan speed of climate control is somewhat downgraded. Before an update, we had a decent cool air without changing the climate down but after an upgrade, I have to not only change the climate temp far low but also need to increase the fan speed. Do you also notice this?

Very cool! But only for the Ryzen chips 😒 And for the radio it's sad they removed the presets away from the lower left area and now you have to open the radio icon to access that. Also I still miss that the car doesn't have full time running lights, small front lights and tail lights, can't use that much power.

I'm on Intel, so no real complaints. I honestly wouldn't get too excited about the full screen visualization, anyway. I agree with others that the energy bar needs to be widened by another row or two of pixels. I also think that with the rear camera and Bluetooth, the automatic trunk opening feature should be brought to all Model Y and 3 Teslas with a power trunk. Shouldn't be too tough. Lots of good info you shared, Shiva and I learned a few things I was unaware of with this release, so thanks.

"Shouldn't be too tough" - just completely lacking UWB radios. You could do something similar with RSSI on Bluetooth, but the accuracy would be awful. Also, AI recognising a person whilst associating Bluetooth signal would be pretty challenging and prone to radio repeater attacks.

@@ShALLaX Why are UWB radios needed? All the rear cam has to do is detect a human standing behind it for three seconds that also happens to have their Tesla phone key in range. It's no different from a security standpoint than it is now, standing behind my Model 3 and manually unlocking the trunk with my hand. It detects my phone key, knows it's a match and that's that. What am I missing, here?

@tesladura3085 fair point on the security. However, imagine someone stands behind my car while I'm also stood near by it. You'd have to get the RSSI measurements perfect to avoid unlocking for anyone else behind the car. Also, I'm not sure how discernable a human would be from something vaguely rectangular when that close up to the rear of the car. The FoV is wide, but not that wide.

@@ShALLaX Yours too, is a fair point, though the odds of someone else loitering behind my car while I'm close enough for my key to be active seems somewhat implausible, no? Maybe this is where facial recognition could be employed or an option to disable the feature? Barring that, just give me an app that allows me to issue a voice command to open my trunk from my Android like people can already do with their Apple watches and I'd be good with that.

Intel MCU 2 needs a retrofit to an AMD equivalent. I got the update yesterday on my Intel M3P and its nice but boy is the UI heavy now. Clunky stuttery animations. Almost MCU1 territory. I would pay 3k for an AMD retrofit. So much smoother.

My 2016 Model 3 got an upgraded computer years ago. I don’t understand why the next one had to be completely different which now makes me feel that my car is antiquated. I’m sure that Tesla did this on purpose to sell more cars. Tesla is in business to make money and without making money they would go out of business.

@@mitchellbarnow1709 Yes I agree Tesla is in the business to make money, But it would still make money if they design a retrofit It wouldn't stop people from getting new cars but it might stop people from going to a different brand of car. It would make current customers even more loyal to the Tesla brand. They could charge 3K for an MCU retrofit and I'm sure a good 60% of MCU2 owners would purchase that and they could make their money back.

Hi Shiva, my model 3 is intel and doesn’t go on full screen when is on drive. Maybe yours does because you have FSD.

That is probably true. I didn't even think about that. Full screen view on an intel is likely only supported for FSD.

Yes, You only get full screen with FSD, I think because of all the data it actually shows with it.

I have a 2020 M3 with the intel chip, and with no FSD (just Enhanced Autopilot). I don’t get the full immersive with my latest 2024.20.1 update. I really hope they get it to the non FSD users soon. The full immersive view doesn’t seem like such a coding graphics leap between FSD vs. Non-FSD. users.

Agree with the comments about the regenerative braking bar needs to be widened. I bet they will. I am on Intel and would like to have the full screen view but not that big of deal. Just tested FSD and this is the first time it actually performed well at all unprotected left turns in my neighborhood. I love that the car is getting more aggressive and accelerating out of turns, but still safe when needed. I'm also glad the braking is too hard when someone stops in front or cuts me off. Much more natural. It even noticed a squirrel in the middle of the road! As I approached I got nervous it would brake too hard. It didn't really brake, but did a small, quick back and forth wheel maneuver, but not crazy enough to cause an accident had someone been near me. It is very similar to what a human would have done.

Wait a minute… How exactly do I get to that immersive view where the entire screen is the vehicle? I have the 2024.14.9 upgrade and I don’t see that. Is there another upgrade coming soon…?

@@VincentConard Do you have an intel chip on your car? Model 3 2018-2020? Then you won't get the full screen car view unfortunately.

I just wish they got the basics right. In Sydney (Aus) Speed limit is often wrong on any road above 80 km/h and can constantly change even though speed limit remains the same. TACC is often useless as it will frequently cut out dangerously slowing down the car. If you are at a set of traffic lights with the indicators on you have to move the blind spot camera so you can adjust the climate control. Then there are the auto wipers.... Speed camera alerts are free on a $200 GPS and you don't need to have to enter a destination. BASICS BEFORE FART NOISES PLEASE.

False. This was wrongly assumed by many when they update was first released for Ryzen only Tesla's. Tesla never said that Intel cars wouldn't be receiving the update.

I will people would stop saying that constant software updates means the product is getting better all the time. That just is not true. Software updates can also make products worse or have no effect at all. Anyone that has ever used a computer or a cell phone should know that.

There's a toggled setting under "Safety" IN the car that turns Sentry Mode ON and OFF. UNDER that On/Off toggle, there's another toggle that "enables remote viewing of camera's". Switch that on and you should be all set! 👍 kzitem.info/news/bejne/z41vmG2arp-ogawsi=q-lLqn_zo9p3xi4C

I love this update already my refreshed M3 LR feels like a new car and I received it in March. The hands free trunk is a game changer. One more thing worth noting is the turn signals on the screen are bigger and brought down a little which is much appreciated as it definitely makes it easier to visualize. This is one of the reasons I enjoy Tesla, the consistent OTA updates. Makes the car that much better and more enjoyable
