Another useful video. I got a 3 LR a month ago and there is a lot to find out. An idea for a future vid. Jacking up at home. types of jack to use, wheel removal following a puncture etc. I know that Tesla service can be called but for those is us in parts of Scotland,Wales and Ireland that service may be hours away.
@RSEV

Ok, can do. It’s just like any car though really. People worry about the battery underneath but they have a jacking point like any other car, which should be used. So with a bit of common sense, all easy enough.

You can use any jack (that fits under the car with attached jack pads). You should use jack pads though that go into the holes on the jack points. Just search for jack pad Model 3 on Amazon or Google and you'll find some. Mine were 25 Euro for a set of 4.

@@garenson Hi Michael, Thank you for the help. I ordered some jack pads and they have arrived so that bit now OK. I have 2 scissor jacks for ICE cars and also a trolley jack but they are all too high even in the lowest position. What I am trying to do is create some kit just in case we have a puncture where there is no mobile phone signal or Tesla help. I have a 21mm socket for the wheel nuts and also need a puncture fluid can that works. We operate in a remote part of the UK from time to time.

The car has to be unlocked for that to work. If you have your phone in your back pocket it's possible that the car might lock when moving towards the charge port. It also usually locks when you go to the Frunk, e.g. to get your charging cables. The wireless locking mechanism works via bluetooth which operates at a frequency that gets partially blocked by water. As humans consist of more than 70% water your body can block the bluetooth signal. That's usally the reason, when some people report problems with the phone key working properly. There are a lot of factors though, the most imortant ones being the strength of your phones bluetooth signal as well as how much body the signal has to travel through. If you take it out of your back pocket or have it in a front poket (jacket or trousers) the phone key usually works flawlessly.

@hamishgraham1
3 жыл бұрын
A Phones value is pretty much defined by its ability to connect so it’s optimised. A Tesla is optimised fir driving so there are compromises on its LTE (cellular) connectivity… but the WiFi receiver is in the driver’s wing mirror. A driver can stand at the entrance to a garage, pick up mobile signal and relay that further into the garage with their phone’s hotspot

Autopilot with FSD is brilliant on any road not just motorway driving and you shouldn't be advising owners not to use everywhere. Tesla voice control is one of the worst.
@Jonathantuba
3 жыл бұрын
The main criteria for using Autopilot, are that it is a wide enough road with good road markings - and no parked cars on road. It does not like tight corners or vegetation close to roadside which often causes braking. I use Autopilot a lot, but know it’s current limitations

That means Tesla is too backward technology wise and actually over-rated similar to Apple products. That's so stupid if the Tesla car locks itself while your key is inside the car, my 10 year old Lexus doesn't lock itself when the key is inside the car but display a message on the dash board that key is inside the car.
