Unlike most of Matt's videos, this one has much more missing/misinformation than usual. Strange, because Matt knows Teslas pretty well. Honking can be done by mashing right side of the wheel spoke over the buttons. You almost NEVER need to cancel the signal because it's done automatically using Tesla Vision -- works really well. Didn't share that Steam OS is on-board, just like a Steam Deck! The sunvisors can be positioned in any angle as it sweeps across -- no need to snap it to the magnet. The middle seats can be set to move forward/after with a single press of the button (no need to hold the button down). The automatic front doors didn't open all the way because Matt is standing right in front of the door. It's not going to open right into him. Also, you can enable the doors to open as you approach it, hands-free.

I think it makes sense and it’s not a fair comparison - you can’t text people or scroll social media through the car screen. Tesla’s intuitive software makes it easy enough to change simple things like climate and volume - you even do those things from the steering wheel without taking your hands off the wheel. The screen also won’t become a projectile if you have a crash. I think for certain functions it just makes sense generally. How often do you adjust your mirrors or steering wheel to justify there being a button that is always physically there for it?

Matt is not giving the car a fair review here. Changing gear is actually not bad at all, especially since the car is doing it automatically for you, it knows the direction you are traveling in and changes it the gear the moment you step on the brake paddle. Also, when you open the door, stay aside for it to open all the way for you, you don't need to open it halfway then pull it out the rest of the way. Turning signals become intuition, you won't feel it, and it's closer to your finger than the standard stock, also, they turn off automatically as soon as you change lanes or make the turn. One last thing for the body gaps, that's something that the buyer has to check within 1 week of buying the car and take it back to Tesla to fix them all for free. Long story short, its a great, i've been driving it for a year now, its a blast everytime i open the door and start driving.

On race tracks, the battery starts to overheat, then it reduces regen braking, and the friction breaks fade as well. But just down hill, it'll be fine, and can rely on regen. Unless your pushing it hard. But pushing a 2.5t vehicle hard downhill is always scary.

Because of the time we are in now Tech has increased and improved overtime that goes for cars too so it makes sense why majority of what’s needed is by screen and buttons rather than by switch, gears, levers and stuff it’s to fit those who are more modern to our time not some 40-50yr old who would rather some Mazda or so🤣🤣🤣💀

You CAN get the claimed range (and more), if you just put it in "Chill" mode and obey the speed limit (iirc "Plaid" mode conditions the battery for optimal power output, but this draws a little bit of power). On a recent trip, I did 32 miles using a little under 9% battery. Extrapolating that out, it's around 356 miles of range -- again, obeying the speed limit of 65mph on the highway. Probably a little lower, considering the traffic I ran into, too.

My parents were going to buy this car but the lack of RHD is going to be deal killer. Model Y it is I guess and lots of spare cash. This is not my taste but probably one of the best cars that currently exists. It's not the master of anything except speed but the entire package put together is incredible. From luxury features to handling to technology. Matt didn't even mention AP (or the paid-for FSD). The latest software update also means you can use your PS5 controller for the games, now it supports Steam. Wouldn't buy one unless my work required a LOT of driving around but will definitely rent one given half the chance. Oh and there were a few mistakes, like the door not opening because he was standing in front, there are buttons for gear selection, etc, but that's ok. It was still a perfectly good review. Phillip.

3 main ponts missed by Matt. 1: Gear selection is preemptive. It works out when to to go into drive and reverse. You only use the screen when you disagree. Also there are also selector buttons on the central console. 2: Down hill you will NEVER use your brakes due to the regenerative braking 3: Most of the screen based menu driven controls are "set once" per user. It remembers your settings and detects who is driving by the phone on the charger (This function is rubbish on RHD cars when another registered driver is in the passenger seat. . Climate and window wipers are easily controlled while driving. Climate is probably the trickiest (fan speed selection is not great).

You only have to adjust the steering wheel and mirrors once and then it saves your profile. Blinkers also have an auto off option you can turn on which will automatically shut them off when you finish switching lanes as well as turning. He also forgot to mention (conveniently) that you there is a PDNR gear selection touch bar under the dual wireless charging pad that you can use if you don't like the auto selection or the touch screen. It's also worth noting the 336 kWh average he pointed to with efficiency he referred to was after dong several full 1,000 hp pulls which would have increased the average energy consumption. You'll get even better efficiency if you drive... legally.
@1meen1
Жыл бұрын
Isn't the PDNR gear selection touch bar only supposed to be used if the screen messes up? Also it's not really better than the touch screen, as it's even lower than the screen and you have to look at it. The point he was making, I believe, was for the lack of physical controls. Although if I'm not mistaken, you're not supposed to fiddle with any of the selectors and the car automatically chooses drive/reverse for you?
