It’s interesting to hear you say they wouldn’t give you a loaner until talking to them in person because I had a similar experience with a service visit to my Toyota dealer. I was due for a 30,000 mile service, but didn’t have time to wait at the dealer, so I asked for a loaner, and they said they don’t do loaners for 30,000 mile service, but they would rent me a car for the day. I said fine, but when I actually got there, my service advisor said he’s not charging me for the rental. I was like “why?” and he’s just like “cause I don’t wanna” 😂

@@TailosiveEV That's when you get the advice of an attorney. A simple letter would do. It's probably a small claims issue but the insurance company at fault would probably prefer to pay your claim than also go to court. Cops are usually good people, but if your home is being burgled, you call 911 not an insurance company. Insurance companies have divisions committed to not pay claims, so taking the advice of your opponent is generally not a good idea. You can probably still consult an attorney. Timing is very important. Contact your state Bar to get a referral. My state's Bar offers such a program and the charge was $35. You may be able to get advice by phone. Just give the secretary your credit card number before the consult. Disclaimer: I'm not an attorney.

@@betitos11 depends on the state. in my state, they wouldnt be at fault because they didnt force you to drive over the debris. it just depends on the state-level laws, and how lawyers will argue what happened and how it relates to whatever the law is. it's not cut and dry "cause". It's not like some driver directly struck his car. It's debris that op chose to drive into. edit: most states have ambiguous language like "avoidable" built into their laws as it pertains to road debris. this makes it subjective to a judge.

The Alabama Stealership Cartel has so far managed to keep Tesla service centers and showrooms out of the state. Even so, I've had three service calls and each time the travelling Tesla Tech showed up in his Model S, pulled out tools or whatever and got 'er done. I have visited one service center in San Diego, and all of the people there were pleasant, professional and helpful, even though I think that the one person who was helping me may have failed to do a proper diagnosis on the problem I had. It was a small matter and my regular itinerant service tech back in Alabama got me fixed up a couple of weeks later.

FYI, that’s the “signature light”, not the daytime running light. I wonder about the steering wheel being off center. Normally that would happen when the steering wheel is removed and reinstalled. There’s a spline to make sure torque transfers even if it somehow came loose, and it’s definitely possible to install the steering wheel in the wrong orientation. But I don’t think that’s what happened in your case because I don’t see why they would have any reason to remove your steering wheel. Also, I suspect the spline increment is big enough that being off by one would be impossible to miss, but I’m not sure about that.

I I had a question from a recent repair that was never responded to via text and 2 days later I still haven't heard anything. Their business model has to change. Humans need to pick up the phone when they have sales questions, and there needs to be a human that can be contacted at the service side as well. Once again, " No part is the best part" mantra fails" If iI never buy another Tesla it's because of Tesla's deliberate one-sided communication. Yeah, yeah, I know it for efficiency reasons, especially when Lord Elon lays off is u 14% of Tesla. I can tell you with 100% certainty that this insulated approach to customer communication is infuriating and insulting.
