Congrats on those beautiful wheels! I'm still sticking with my OEM 18" Aeros but who knows what the future may bring. I've found that adding aftermarket wheels really does make a car I've had for a few years feel new to me again...until it's not. I do all my tire and wheel business with Discount Tire which I believe is the same company with the same benefits you're describing and they've never let me down. When the Cybertruck arrives, that warranty certificate will be a must for those huge tires and the thought of where they may get used.

I've gotten a bunch of nails in my 20" too. I replaced the expensive OEM tires with super cheap Achilles atr sport tires. They are very good for the money and I highly recommend them if you don't track the car. $350 vs $70. No warranty needed. They actually ride more comfortable than the Michelin 4s and can't feel any loss in acceleration grip.

Does this mean when you pay $200 for all 4 tire to be insured then when it comes time to renew your tires (buy new ones) will they charge you another $50 per tire again?

OCDetailing in Fremont is the only shop that I use. Their work is flawless and you won’t find any exposed edges of ppf film. I couldn’t believe Bjørn’s Model 3’s ppf job, where all the edges were exposed and it has to be detailed every year to remove built up dirt. It’s really looks bad on a white car.

4:45 Low profile tires are not more likely to get nails or screws in them. It's the fact that most low profile tires are performance oriented and therefore soft compound. This compound allows the tire to stick to road better - but also debris too.

Raj -- The biggest problem I have on my Model 3 wheels is curb rash. This is due to the fact that the rims extend beyond the tire sidewalls -- more than other cars I have owned. Please address what can be done about this. Are there tire sizes where the sidewalls extend beyond the rims, making contact with curbs before the rims? Thanks.
@domg7359

Some tires are better. For instance, the Michelin Cross Climates sidewall comes out enough to protect the wheel.
@mitchellbarnow1709
4 жыл бұрын
I was told that you can go one size wider, because the wheels can handle them, but with more tread on the ground, efficiency will be reduced. Efficiency is king, as far as Tesla is concerned. I have never had a car where the wheels stuck out beyond the tires, but this is my first Tesla.

GREAT VIDEO RAJ! U SHOULD REALLY NOTE SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT U LEFT OUT(!!): "AMERICA'S TIRE" is actually "DISCOUNT TIRE," the best Tire Company in America! ONLY people like us who actually live in SF or LA, Cali know them as "America's Tire." Your video would be MUCH MORE HELPFUL to the other 99% of people in America if you'd CLARIFY that it's DISCOUNT TIRE.....Personally, IDK why in the hell they call it America's Tire in JUST SF & LA.....it's actually really stupid since it's obvious they are actually DISCOUNT TIRE (I mean, look at their "livery"...the color of the bldg's, the Red Lettering...it's identical and when you go inside, it's DISCOUNT TIRE....even my receipts say DISCOUNT TIRE). Nobody outside of these 2 cities that either don't live here or visit here or.....well, let's just 98% of Americans don't know who America's Tire is so it would really HELP PEOPLE & HELP U/ur channel if you'd CLARIFY THIS. OTHERISE, you've limited your audience to just SF & LA and, as I'm SURE you know, that's a small fraction of America...there are 51 other states dude. And yes, I agree, if you've never heard of DISCOUNT TIRE, you're definitely living under a rock! LOL. The other reason it's important you clarify this is so American's KNOW that you're covered in any decent size city in the USA...not just SF of LA....again, even if you live there as we do, MOST OF US DO TRAVEL and DO GO OTHER places (at least I hope they do; God help those who think LA/SF is the ONLY city in the USA! Geeze! Scary!). Btw, don't take my sarcasm, albeit I'm actually being SINCERE and trying to HELP....but, even as a native "Angelean" (technically, "the OC"), I get REALLY AGRAVATED w/ Californians who think the whole damn world is JUST Los Angeles and San Fran! That's just....IDK, SAD?!? Note: I'm NOT saying you are at all Raj. I just think, though, that many of us who were born here tend to think about the USA as just California even by accident and it's just so ABSURD! Don't get me wrong, I'm proud (sometimes) to be a Californian BUT there are MANY, MANY other places in America! Moreover, financially, our states, though, is just a freaking mess (that's why everybody here is moving to Texas or wherever (just seems like many I know have moved to Austin, specifically) where there DOLLAR is worth 10 times more due to the insane amount of taxes we have on everything form Personal Income Tax to....well, extra taxes on every damn thing you can think of, literally! Anyway, I don't mean to get political, sorry. My whole point w/ my comments is RAJ's video here is a REALLY GREAT VIDEO, seriously! The ONLY thing he REALLY NEEDS to DO is CLARIFY that it's DISCOUNT TIRE he's talking about, not AMERICA's TIRE (even if you Google "America's Tire Wiki it will take you straight to DISCOUNT TIRE.....AMERICA'S TIRE doesn't really exist, per se....it's JUST a "name" they use in CA for DISCOUNT TIRE. Seriously, Google: "America's Tire Wikipedia" and I PROMISE YOU the very first thing you'll get is: DISCOUNT TIRE!). If you'd fix this, the video would be PERFECT RAJ....and you'd be addressing the other 99% of AMERICANS/Ur Viewers (not the 1% you're currently reaching that understand WHO you're talking about!). IMPORTANT NOTE FOR U: SAN FRANCISCO (entire metro population as of 2020): Just a little over 3 million (and that's DOWN: "The metro area population of San Francisco in 2019 was 3,310,000, a 0.23% DECLINE from 2018*." That's NEARLY A 1/4 (.25%)!!! I'm telling U, SF is freaking beautiful BUT people are getting the heck out of Cali altogether....the natural beauty is great but the "bad" outweighs the "good"...CA's just a freaking mess! UNITED STATES Population: 331,002,651 people (U get the idea; 3 million versus well over 330 Million?). * Source (I'm NOT making these things up!); Secure Link: www.macrotrends.net/cities/23130/san-francisco/population Cheers Mate! PS: Love the RED Brake Calipers - I've a 2020 Tesla w/ the upgraded Sport Wheel Pkg but I don't have the RED aftermarket calipers....where did you get them if you don't mind me asking. I'd be happy to check them out via a link that would help you out.

$430 to replace the PS4S Tesla Spec - as many fellow P3D owners already know and have paid. Indeed its good to get the tire-warranty. Tesla would make some profits selling a wheel and tire warranty like other OEMs who sell low profile tires and large diameter wheels. As I saw you selling your 19's I would have suggested keeping them as a spare...the 20" tires and rims are not as readily available... Enjoy your sweet new wheels. Looking forward to your video about lowering your car - cause the 20's always makes the model 3 look like its a monster truck.
