Doing a test cut on a 1 gallon jug with a 30 inch Saber Inspired Sansibar.
Test cuts are done not only to check the sharpness of the blade but also to check the effectiveness of the cutting technique being practiced. You should not do it without professional supervision if you do not have a background in handling blades.
The Sansibar was officially born in Leyte in 1881 before Spain sold the Philippines to America through a treaty. The sansibar was mainly, and is still used, by the river men who cut bamboo for use as floaters for their “bangka” or boats, for local traveling. This particular sansibar was custom made in Carigara, Leyte to look - and handle - like a Saber.
