It’s just the original design of Nosferatu Zodd’s aruval sword. If you desire for it to be sharp. Just ask the sword smith on etsy. I didn’t want it to be sharp. I wanted a strong durable spine

It actually is functions or did you just sharpen the edges? Judging by its metallic luster it looks to be a aluminum and steel alloy, to which, is likely high carbon. In other words, worthless is a long battle. But I will say it was a little impressed.

In the description. You can look at the shop site details. It is leaf spring heat treated high carbon steel. It came sharp.

The only aluminum alloy I am aware of the comes close to the strength of steel in any mechanical function is only equivalent to stainless steel, which you would never want to use in a functional blade that you are going to make heavy contact with...basically any material you may be hitting in any combative situation. Stainless steel is fine in a knife to some degree, but it is most often loaded with chromium as is the case with any wallhanger steel blade such as...basically any of the 440 steel family. There is more than that, but its only an example. Leaf spring steel, as mentioned above by Sword Collector, is typically the kind of steel you want to actually make a functional blade from. Steel that can spring back after being used as the primary shock absorbing factor in lets say...a high load bearing typical 1950s farm truck is going to be the kind of steel you want for this. That being said I would hazard that Zodd's blade isn't, perhaps, the best choice of weapon, even scaled down that you would want to use were you in any defensively engaged, or combative role(unless you're a vampire demon with ^9000 strength).b

Actually, I take some of that back. I browsed the etsy, and if it can be verified that it weighs as much as some reviews say then I'd have to say I'm kind of impressed. It appears much, much bulkier than what it is said to weigh. If this guy is legit Ghurka I'd buy that he actually does know what he's doing. Gotta scale handy?

@@QuantumDegenerator It feels nimble and agile in the hands. For a wide blade.

@@QuantumDegenerator I probably wouldn’t put it past being about 6 pounds or so that’s about the heaviest most swords ever got even the biggest swords I’ve ever seen that were made to be functional aren’t above 7 pounds and I’ve seen ones that are bigger than this by a significant margin, at least in length
