Love seeing the progress and getting a taste for how much "massaging" is required for fitment 😅😂

You can use a heat gun to adjust polyester resin fiberglass parts, if not too far out. Light heat and when your got it to where you want, then cold water to lock in the shape. Hope this helps ya.

Fred....the Norm Abrams of car body fitment. I'm still looking for a used car in my area. Impreza is on the list.......but must be delayed. Tourism here in Niagara Falls is not rebounding as the experts figured it would. But there is youtube with you guys and Sarah to cheer us up.

It's always so tough to fit aftermarket kits. I prefer sticking to OEM tuner parts. I"m sure STi would have a kit that doesn't need a ton of adjustment.. but I figure this guy wants to be unique?? Good amount of work pulling out those dents! 👍

The only way to get OEM panels is to cut up a real 22b.

Check out “The late brake show” here on KZitem, building a 22B as close to original as possible. Great work here, if anyone can make a nasty fibre glass kit fit it’s you guys!

Can you cut out most of the stock quarter when installing a kit like this?
@brandonwelsh2743

You can but you lose strength when you cut to much out.

When I do a widebody I always put at least one heavy or two layers of glass on the inside and at the edges where they are bonded I put ONE standard layer of glass. I never use the whole panel. I take the stock fenders and make a skeleton to attach the fiberglass panels that are trimmed down. I have been doing this for many many years.

There’s a rare car that has a wider body called the 22b the car we’re working on is a 2.5 RS coupe which looks similar but isn’t as wide.

glass kit manufacturers are so annoyingly lazy, you can tell they were de molded and shipped before they were fully cured and then sit in some 110 C wearhouse in mexico before clearing customs. It got to the point where I couldnt allow chinesium parts or body kit parts from the 'pacific coast'.

These parts, in this particular case, come from one of the two best 22b kit makers anywhere, and they're handmade in the UK. The rear bumper situation is a bit unfortunate but all things considered, it's hard to imagine a kit this complicated fitting much better
