i miss the part where you try to say how to reduce clutch wear during downshifting. Did you say clutch, down shift, rev up and close clutch?

No rev matching needed for such slow speed corner entry . The theory is that you’d brake very hard and bring the speed down so significantly (also lowering the engine rev rapidly) that you can just drop a couple gears and let clutch out (not dumping, but ease off the initial release, then immediately release fully). Doing so would help clutch match the low rpm engine rev without actually rev matching via throttle. It’s a bit unnerving at first, but those beaten DRZs proves that it’s no issue.

ok, make sense. Rev matching would be too complicated while braking, cornering and trying to overtake other bikes at the same time ;)
