Not sure if it's a temporary thing, but on my Meet green room screen, that button has now been removed and it's available under a tab in the "Apply Visual Effects" button. Silly place to put it with that name, but in case anyone else was wondering where it went. I've fed it back to Google, here's hoping they put it back somewhere clearer again.

Yes, since I made this video Meet has added a bunch more backgrounds, styles and AR filters, so grouping them as "Effects" probably makes sense.

Looks like you can only test mic in guest not as a host.. When I host a meeting i can test speakers, but not mic... There is no option to test under More >>>Settings in web browser. Is that how it is?

On the web, when you go to More > Settings > Audio next to the mic icon you should see a blue circle with 3 dots - the dots animate to show your input audio levels when you use the mic. If you want to do a full test (with recorded sample) you need to do that on the "Join" page for the meeting. In a Calendar event, copy-paste the URL into your browser, rather than clicking the "Join" button. On the "Join" page, click the microphone to see levels, or click your camera to have the option to make a test recording.
