Hello Abe. True words. The flow rate is really important for great grow. 3Tunze from one side and in the right position is a small window on the bottom for chalice with slower flow. I drive my aquarium by 0.25 phosphate and 30-50Nitrate without skimmer. My secret for a clean tank is weekly water change and tons of snails. Make more videos Aber.Your coral system looks great.

Hey what’s up Abe! San Diegan reefer here too! Kind of new, been reefing nearly two years. Consider my tank-build successful thanks to industry experts like you, Reef Bum, Bulk Reef Supply, on and on. My corals are thriving and though not perfect (who is? 😃) seeing consistent explosive growth especially from the acros and other SPS. Have done hours and hours of homework, so much so decided to go the road less traveled achieving the No-Water-Change regime. I guess i like the difficult route or more challenging setup. Not much maintenance besides feeding fish every other day, target-feed corals every now and then, refill water reservoir every 3 weeks, All-for-Reef all in one solution container once a month, and clean skimmer cup once per month (running dark/dry skimate purposefully). There’s more like ROWA in a reactor twice a year, activated charcoal in a mesh bag somewhere but don’t want to make the comment too long. Enjoying the tank and cleaning the glass more than anything else - lights, pumps, dose; all automated. Cheers and thanks for being a staple in this exotic adventurous niche! *What do I have trouble with the most? Aiptasia and occasional square-inch spots of green hair algae! Aiptasia is stubbornly DIFFICULT to eradicate even with RedSea Aiptasia-X. Also, dosing aminos with vitamins, carbs, fatty acids, and protein all in one solution for coral tissue and vitality health but honestly notice increased algae encrustation on the glass so kind of dialed back on that until further studies can conclude near mandatory benefits if any. 😎☕️

Right but I thought Abe was all about heavy in/heavy out so surely a valid answer is just to increase export a little? 🤷 Guess it depends on the scale of the phosphate issue
@Reefahholic
Жыл бұрын
@@hornett83 Heavy in / heavy out within reason. If you’re Nitrates are climbing weekly, that is a tale tale sign the tank is being over fed. At that point it’s time to reevaluate the amount going in, but some reefers will do everything but that. Before you know it they’ve started dosing 3 new products, deployed aggressive Carbon & GFO, started NOPOX, and installed a UV. 🙂

As for sps. If you get them and they look stressed. Just get them out and put them in Quarantine. Don't temp Aquamate . Just get them out and wait tell there happy again. All your doing is stressing them out more my temp Acquimate. Wholesalers go throw this all the time and just get them out and in quarantine with very little changes of loose.

I've heard that some people don't even recommend temp. acclimate too but I'm having a hard time believing that an additional 20-30 minutes in the bag while they float is going to add that much more stress.

Dose Phosphate-E. My phosphate was 0.40 4-5 days ago. I dosed just a single 1mL of Phos-E and phos dropped to 0.26. I dosed another 1mL and I'm about to test with my Hanna right now and I bet it's going to read right around 0.10. My nitrates were high too at 33. I've been overfeeding my corals and fish and not paying attention to phos/nitrates. Got the nitrate down to 10 by adding a one-time dose of probioPNS bacteria.
