When you were trying to do the cooked corn, the bottom piece was not screwed on properly. It was cross-threaded and I think that may be part of your problem with the cooked corn. I think my mother would have loved having this product. Every spring, she would come home with a trunk full of corn (in the husks). As a family, we would spend most of the evening shucking, cooking and cutting corn off of the conns to be frozen. We used a mandolin and every year, one of us woulf get cut relearning the lesson that we needed to be careful.

One thing I noticed is you had more bother with the cob turning inside it when you put the narrow end of the cob on the spike at the bottom. The narrow end has the least amount of the tough internal stem of the cob for the spike to bite into, so it would be less secure. The device will probably work more reliably/be easier to get each one started if the fat/toughest end of the cob is always on the spike :)

I have pretty sensitive teeth that even biting into corn is uncomfortable. This device would be great to have by how much you showed that it strips off the corn from the cob.
