In this video I finally assemble one of my oddest machines: A Pentium Pro. It was the first iteration of the P6 architecture and was considered a commercial failure. However, not everything was bad: The architecture turned out to be so good, that it was used for over a decade, and even modern Intel CPUs have evolved from them.
But onto business, what I intend to do is test it with period accurate software and determine if a primitive server oriented CPU is suitable to be used as a home retro computer. In this first part, I assemble the machine and give a small introduction.
