Having that trike on the back will reduce your MPG a little more. Glad to see you finally getting the van finished.

Not really. The wind shear cuts a void on the back. The air does not move much back there enough to drag. Sort of like the trike is drafting.

You should consider adding a seat cover to your trike for use while you're driving. I found out the hard way my trike seat does not dry quickly. Great setup! I always enjoy your videos.

You can consider installing a pulley block on the top of the bracket, tie it to the two front wheels of the bicycle with two ropes, and then hang it on the bracket and fix it.

The trike fix came out well. Just tailor a raincover for the trike in your workshop. Rainproof & dustproof.

If the weight of that trike is 72 pounds and other racks can easily hold 2 normal bikes on the door you will have zero issues. I'd get a couple of backup ratchet straps for the garage.

Great setup! Only two points that come to mind: 1) Maybe slide the pedal boom down a bit so that it's below roof line (if it is not already). Less chance of tree limbs catching it. 2) Any reason why you guys didn't try mounting all 3 flanges facing the same way so that the trike hangs it's weight on all three (spreading the load)? Maybe too hard for you to lift up and over the upper flanges? Perhaps consider a trike cover that you can strap to it to keep it from rusting in all that rain. 🤣 Otherwise, looking good! Just check for looseness at gas stops. Glad you got that all sorted out. \o/ :D

Maybe flip the the top two racks around so that they also share the load with the single bottom rack, all three tires supporting the load. Then you can use the straps to pull down slightly on the frame to prevent movement upwards (holding it snugly onto the rack) I realize it might be a little more work to load/unload but would seem to be a lot more secure.

I see your going 80mph on your GPS. With the roof rack, ladder and those big tires what king of gas mileage are you getting. I know on mine if I go 80 my mileage tanks to about 11 mpg.

@@JaYoeNation We have just decided to not be in a hurry and found that cruising at 68 we get 15-16 mpg, any faster and the mileage drops fast. Yes if driving 2000 miles 68 sucks for speed but I do find driving at that speed very relaxing and less stressful. 68 mph would make that 2000 mile drive 3 hours longer than 75 and 4.5 hours longer than 80. Good thing I'm not in a hurry. My wife and I are thinking of calling our van "Tortuga De Aventura" or Adventure Turtle. Slow as a turtle but we are carrying our house on our back.

This is an example of Stubborn and not so bright. How to spend a lot of money too, unnecessarily. Who with an RV in their right mind carries a space hog Recumbent Trike ?? Mounting a two wheel bicycle would be easy. So you paid to obstruct you limited natural rear view and are now dependent on the even more limited rear vied of the rear view camera. Plus you no longer have 270° doors and your hinges are overloaded and will need frequent replacing at $175.00 per hinge plus labor. You could get away with the Tire and gas can But the Trike is not going to withstand all the vibration. It Will be an expensive fail when it falls off. Is this a good plan ??? I do not think so.
