Dear Guru. Ionic6 was recently released, do you mind making a intro video to what web-view is and how to use Ionic with nextjs or other libraries?

Amazing series, exactly what I was looking for. I already read some books and tried trading with a paper account but manually testing strategies is painful and you provide us everything that's needed for free. Thank you so much and keep up the great work!

So weird seeing your face for once! I used your videos about 7 years ago to help me learn Java for the first time and now I've been a full stack dev for 5 years so thank you so much for producing such awesome conent. Tried following the Algorithmic Trading with Python book but it's not so helpful as it assumes you're at a uni with access to lots of data which isn't available to the public, looking forward to this. Cheers

Hey Derek, I would really appreciate a video on a program that scans the market for basic chart patterns. As a day trader it would really simplify my life, thank you!

Hi Derek. Thank you for sharing this awesome work. I wanted to ask how do you take into account buy/sell commissions in the back testing? Is it something you are planning to add in a future talk?

Hi. The part where you test the strategy is really confusing in my opinion. You say that the code will "Cycle through rows and buy when the cloud is greater than 2" and for that you use the 'cloud' column. However, it is difficult to understand the meaning of this column. The 'cloud' value can be greater than 2, but still be a case in which SpanA is lower than SpanB. Therefore, you don't want to buy in this case, right? Additionally, I couldn't figure out when you're buying to be honest. I think a much better approach would be having a column where you store your position (0 - you don't own; 1 - you own) so that we can see when you bought and sold. Anyways, it was an awesome video. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Derek, I have a question about how you use the data to figure out when you are going to buy and sell. Around 1:08:00 you start to backtest the data. are you using the previous day's Ichimoku to tell you to buy/sell the next day? Because if you don't do that then are you not making trades with "future" data? Great Video!

Thank you so much for this. I'm a little bit late to the party here but I plan on going back and watching every one of your videos on this subject. I did some day trading for about five years and I can confirm that I was an overall loser! Yip. I failed. If you can figure this out or shine a light on what makes those charts go up and down then I'll be cheering from the rooftops. Best of luck with all this.

Hi Derek, when we do "df['group'] = df['label'].ne(df['label'].shift()).cumsum()" the result is not greater than 2 only at the beginning of df. Thus, "if row['group'] > 2" is often true. Do you mind to explain that better please? Thank you.

Highly interesting video, as always . Many thanks for this! A question about a trading idea from me: Do you think it is possible to find stocks with time shifted charts programmatically? Basic idea for this question: e.g. When the flour becomes more expensive, the bread also becomes more expensive with a delay. With a time shift of a few days this would be good tradeable with options.

Thank you :) I think that would require insider knowledge. I know from being in manufacturing that we normally know way before the public that there are expected to be price increases.

Excellent stuff Derek! Just one comment. By removing all the NaN's for Lagging you removed the most current days from the graph. As far as I understand it that is not necessary. Then we will see even todays values for all the other lines!

Great tutorial and very helpful as always. Dou you have plans to write code in this series that can scan all stocks and create top 10 list of stocks that ichimoku works best? Which is the difference between ichimoku results and buy and hold results are percentage wise highest.
@derekbanas
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) Sure you could scan for stocks with the largest span a versus span b. I’ll show how in my next video. I have found the Ichimoku to be the best especially when looking for stocks with high momentum. I can only imagine the increased performance because I have not shorted stocks. On its own it can add dramatically to returns as I showed with little effort.

Thanks for taking the time to ask :) I got Covid and I can't talk for more than a few minutes without losing my voice. I'm going to do my best to do my Chess stream tomorrow and I also want to try and do my learn to invest in one video this week. We'll see what happens.
