A remote worker, I avoid taking PTO by working from the hotel during the day, maybe ducking in for an early entry ride before work or for lunch at my favorite spots (use that mobile order, people!) and then spent my evenings in the park. The hours after fireworks are AMAZING and when I get to ride all the E-tickets and most popular attractions with minimal crowds.. and what crowds there are seem a lot more chill and relaxed.. no large family groups, no strollers, no stressed out parents, etc... underrated time to be in the park!

I was also there on Dec 2nd, Had G+LL and did not buy ILL for Rise. Attended Rope Drop at 8am and experienced Alice, Toad, Snow White, Storybook Land, Matterhorn, Railway, Jungle Cruise, Swiss Family, and Pirates. Took break at 11am. Came back to the park at 6pm. Had dinner at Tianas (used Mobile Ordering). Used LL for Indiana Jones, Mansion Holiday, Falcon, Thunder, Small World, Matterhorn, Railway, and Space Mountain. Left by 1130pm. 8 hours of park time and 17 attractions worked out well.

This last two hours plan really brings back the great old plan of rope drop, then leaving the park for lunch and taking a nap, then coming back after an early dinner to closing the park down.
@pererau
10 ай бұрын
This is my strategy! Rope drop until lines get long at around 11, go get lunch and a nap and return at 6 ready to close the park. Not only do I miss the busiest hours, but it works to trick my brain into feeling like each day is two days, which matters a lot when I have to fly down from NorCal for only 2-3 days at a time. My favorite thing to do is BTM back to back to back to back in the last 45 minutes. I also love doing Buzz Light-year and Star Tours at 10:30ish because they are pretty much literal walk-ons and those are two of my favorite bad rides (worth doing but not worth waiting in line)

The last 2 hours are my favorite. My son and I practically run from ride to ride then finish the night with a treat on the way out. We also stop at Starbucks for a cold brew without ice and for the morning. the Starbucks at the end of the night saves us time in the morning. The line at Starbucks in the morning is so long.

The Sweeper trip of the Disneyland railroad (last train ride of the night) is the best attraction since after closing, because you are resting your legs from the whole entire day/night in the park. It definitely helped me out for about 20-23 minutes since it's a good way to take a break. If you want to walk through Main Street just by walking, be my guest, but for me, I prefer the Disneyland railroads' Sweeper trip. (The train ride that goes around the park) If you get off the train around 25 minutes after park closing, then you should still have some time to walk through Main Street and shop, but overall I'll take the Sweeper trip and go to the Hotel to get some rest. Shopping is still open an extra hour after park closing.

Back when he was much younger, our wheelin' half was enamored with Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and Star Tours. So our closing strategy was simple. Ride Mater, get back in line, Ride Mater again, repeat for an hour or so. A couple of times the ride crew noticed and just let us stay on and ride until he was done. Then it's over to Disneyland and do the same thing on Star Tours. That one was popular enough that we were never invited to stay on, but we could get 5 or 6 rides done in a hour.

Post fireworks time at Disneyland is amazing and you can use the demographics of the people who stay that late to your advantage. They’re mostly young people who flock to the mountains and those lines are pretty long all the way until closing time. Meanwhile we had a boat to ourselves on It’s A Small World and walked on Runaway Railway at 10:30pm, it was unbelievable.

For me, the rope drop is all about maximizing my highest priority rides and closing is for stuff I'm either not willing to wait in any line for or because they are aesthetically/experientially the best at night. Buzz, Autopia, and Casey jr are the only rides in the whole park I'm never willing to wait in any line for, so I either just don't go on them when I'm there or save them for the end of the day. it seems like Peter Pan and space mountain stay busy all night. As far as aesthetic experience, some of the "easy" rides to get on at night are also so beautiful and fun at night. for me, those are pirates, tea cups, splash mountain, jungle cruise, and big thunder. I often close the night with big thunder. There have been times when I've gotten to big thunder with 10-15 minutes left in the night and walked on several times in a row to end the night. I agree with your take on space mountain though, either the first thing you do or last thing you do if you're not buying genie plus.

When I was at DL/DCA Columbus Day weekend, those last two hours or so were amazing. I would put my girls to bed and head back to the park. I got to knock out quite a few rides, Pirates was about a walk on, Matterhorn and Big Thunder had short waits. I had Galaxy Edge almost to myself, which was very eerie. You could feel the park gradually get empty every 30 minutes. As I was leaving the longest lines were for ride shares.

FreshBaked. David, Last two hours at Disneyland are the best. You'll have to strap on some roller skates if you want to do more rides. The lighting package on Space Mtn exterior does'nt work does it? Stark white would catch your eye but this new lighting looks muddy and you don't look at it anymore. Also, what happened to the Matterhorn? Walt had special pearlised paint made so when Moonlight shone on the Mtn it sparkled. Like it does on crisp snow. Main St. after midnight is a whole different place. As the rest of the park is closed, the Street should stay open till 3 a.m. with food, shopping and live music. You know you can never get enough. Cheers, Chris Perry.

Ya, space seems to stay pretty busy almost every night until close in my experience. I’ve been in multiple 45 minutes waits there at close. I can’t bring myself to get in the regular line anymore during the day when single rider is open. I did it 3 times within 25 minutes the other day with single rider when the wait was 50+. How’s the pocket 3? I mentioned 8 months or so ago that I use the pocket and it’s great for rides especially since the screen is small and not as intrusive as a phone screen.
