Another option is Element skateboards. I was planning on the Element Section complete at $110 for my first board. However, they had the Magma complete - same exact complete, but on sale because the it didn’t sell too well because of the graphic - for $50. If somebody wants a first board on a budget, I’d check out Element.

I feel like if u kno what parts to get u can come in at around 100 bucks n get a "pro" board more or less..example blank board (ccs, mini logo, powell ect) blank wheels (ccs, budget pig ect) krux trucks (cheap n still great quality), and cheap generic bearing but id just get reds because they're not that expensive, then just blank iron horse/black magic/jessup grip... id guess depending on which brand of blank board, wheels combo u go with. that complete can probably be bought at 100-120. if u bargain hunt and hunt down a the best deals and pick a place that offers free shipping with atleast 100 purchase like ccs. if u wanted to u could probably find a pro name brand board that's on clearance or sale but my only worry would be that it's gonna be warped or some b.s lol. I do think trucks are the most important part of this setup and id guess krux would probably be the most bang for your buck imo..theyre a solid truck not fancy, but not cheap and they ride solid.. idk how much royal or silver trucks go for nowadays but those options will probably be on the cheaper side, but imo krux is the way to go as far as budget but still buttery (as they say on nine club). my first pro complete in 2000-01 was world industries 7.5, grind king with the allen key king pin, lucky 7 bearings, pig or spitfire wheels i forget, shorties hardware, i left it outside for 2 minutes n it got stolen lol.. i think i got almost the exact same setup to replace it but swapped out the GKs for tensor or phantom 2s lol, definitely spitfire the 2nd time, but kept the skinny ass world wet willy flame boy graphic variation because i was a kid n this was b4 world was considered lame.. as u can tell i made my choices based more on aesthetic and look rather than function! this was at a time where alot of ppl said independents were too heavy so i always avoided them. by the time they were really popular again i was a straght up thunder only kid. by the time i actually knew what i liked my it girl crailtap 7.75-8 everyother board, thunder lows or mid, bones reds, 52 mm SF or ricta hollows were super popular at that time (mid 2000s on)..i loved the baker team but HATED the shape of most of thier boards, the nose was always on the pointy side lol.. nowadays i stick to either deluxe or bbs decks, i really like the fat nose of fa/hockey decks.. u cant go wrong with a Real full shape deck 8.25 or something similar but with a smaller tail.

It would be better to use the word custom instead of regular. Theres a dfference between Custom skateboards and completes and since both are skateboards as the word is a general term used to describe a category, using the word cutom skateboard is better then saying regular skateboard. All skateboarders use skateboards but long time skaters use customs while new skaters usally use completes. There is a a difference, as we all know custom skateboards are all different with different parts that are more expensive and are of better quality then regular complete skateboards, which are mass produce, cheaper, lower quality parts, and will always be the same. So using the word custom rather then saying regular skateboard would be better as the term is less confusing to those who are getting into skateboarding, is a better way to differ the two types of skateboards ( Competes and Custom), and saying custom sounds cooler and more practical then saying "proffesional skateboard" since proffesioncal skatebaords are really just customs that anyone can get at a skateshop; plus sounds cooler. Btw Cool video John

the cushions on the trucks are the problem, not the trucks themselves - of course the trucks/metal won’t last as long as proper trucks, but what you are describing is the low quality cushions, which is an easy fix with proper cushions - which is a good idea for a proper video - what if you change the cushions, change bearings and maybe wheels, how does it compare to the real stuff

Holy shit dude, I realized why people say "John hill is always doing the same shit!...". He thinks people mean the skateboard tricks, I feel like it is the annoying ass choice of music and the way it is edited! I try to watch the videos and it's hard because right in the beginning of every video he plays bunk ass elevator music in the background and it's hard to focus on what he is saying because my attention is fighting between listening to him and listening to the music, but also trying to solely focus on what he is saying while all your ears hear is elevator music.... I start to see why people say he has a punchable face, because when you try to focus on him talking but all you hear is elevator music, it makes me want to punch him in the face! Some of the choices of elevator music don't fit the scenes I am watching, I am watching him, but the music makes me feel like I am watching an episode of Tom & Jerry where there is no words just music and the music is emotional but the emotions being portrayed just don't seem to fit. Then it goes from elevator music, to techno, to boom bap and I think to myself "bro, why do all these KZitemrs put annoying music in their videos?".... I don't understand! Then I go to a different video of his and realize it is the same song as the last video and by the third video I am so annoyed I can't even watch him anymore!..... I think "who puts music in a video that already has natural audio?" Then the music volume is going up and down to try to fit the scene and annoying me even more. I think "it's like he is trying to mimic a TV show or some shit" and I try to picture different TV shows in my head and realize they do it on shows like Roseanne when the scenes change, but why would a KZitemr do it. I am watching a guy skate and listening to a symphony 😂😂😂😂 And how many times does this dude call himself a "Pro Skateboarder"!?!?......😂😂 CRINGE... Should I even mention the fact he is "TESTING" an "Amazon board", which to me sounds like saying a "Walmart board" which we all know is shit for quality, so why would you spend $99 on a shit board from Amazon, when you can literally find a "Pro Quality", "NAME BRAND" skateboard for the same price and sometimes even cheaper when shops have sales or clearance!?!?.... What even makes this dude a "PRO?", because he considers himself one? Because he can do a few tricks? I mean is there sponsors lining up like "DAMMMMN, THIS GUY IS GOOD!..." or is it companies giving him merch to review and he is over here tooting his own horn!??.... All this because the music is annoying lolol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
