The gentleman explaining the technology toward the beginning of the video does a really great job describing the valving and preload, etc. Excellent stuff.

On my list to do this fall on my Cayman S. Since I love to wrench on my own cars, I hope there are clear instructions for setting everything up. Sort of a turnoff when anything (owners manual or video) tells me it recommends a pro. I’m more than capable of following solid instruction and advice. Great video and solidifying my decision (per recommendation from Flat 6 and much appreciated).

We have a very detailed and full install video for the 992. It is possible to DIY but suspension has a lot of considerations so professional experience can be very valuable/save headaches. Ultimately, your own experience and skill will dictate. We're always happy to help answer any questions or give any pointers regarding install.

I have owned a few Ohlins products over the years, the TTX on my ducati soaks up the little stuff like it isn't there and the adjust ability make them great exceot they are not disposable like a regular shock and need to be rebuilt which is part of the game. That's cool you were able to take your T in to have it done by the pros. Did you ask them about servicing costs by chance? I also own a 992.1T, and it is a pretty stiff chassis, do you feel it mellowed the street ride out or just make the car handle better? Maybe I missed that part in the video but I'm at work with the volume down low.

Are these compatible with cars that have PDCC? Would an install still work (I assume it would)? Would you loose the PDCC functionality?

I hated my R/T on my F80 M3. They were harsh and abrupt, especially on rebound. Now have MCS 2 way remotes on my 718 GT4 and they are MUCH better.

That’s funny because I had Ohlins R/T on my F82 M4 and by replacing the rear springs to softer, it was one of the best set-ups I’ve experienced. I’m currently running Nitron R3’s and I think they’re only 10% better for less than one third of the cost. I think the stock R/T springs were just too stiff.

@@sergzz12thanks for this comment. Was trying to pick a nice balanced F80 setup and looks like a custom tuned ohlins R&T is the way.

Also at 3:50, is that foam on top of the top hat for the rear? What kind of foam should I be adding and how do I apply it?

That's part of the factory top hat.

How many clicks counter clockwise from full stuff for: Street and Track front and rear? I have the same set of coilovers for my 992 S and it’s ridiculously compliant even at the stiff setting.

You go all the way full stiff and then count each click backing out.

@@Flat6Motorsportsinteresting that you set the rear to be more stiff. Did you do that for more oversteer?

@@KoryoJK this is why we took the vehicle to their testing facility. The optimal balance is there. No oversteer detected but eliminated some of the front end push/understeer.
