I am SO glad Deciem has finally launched this product. I'm also excited to see a super affordable product that an replace some much more expensive salicylic acid products!! I am using an acid blend, so this is not a product for my skin.... but I can celebrate this new launch for those who do need it!!❤❤❤❤

I'm using it with tretinoin and haven't noticed irritation so far. I think the squalene base helps so much. I'd probably start out with maybe a couple times a week, then up it to just mornings (if you use tretinoin in the evenings or vice versa), then maybe morning and evenings, depending on your tolerance... I'm happy with it!

Hi Rob this does sound like a winner for many people. I have found my skin isn't too keen on 2% BHA, but will tolerate a 1% or below. I use the 30ml travel size of the PC calm 1% BHA - it's in a serum/gel formula and one 30ml bottle at around £10 has lasted me many months. I only use it once or twice a week though, as my very dry skin doesn't need it on a daily basis. That occasional use keeps my pores clear, but I do also use both a retinoid and azelaic acid on alternate nights. I actually find the 15% azelaic acid works much faster on a pimple than BHA does for me - even at 2%. i'm glad it has filled a gap in the affordable product market though, as that is always a good thing to find an affordable alternative to an expensive product. Best wishes.

Excited to see you've got early access! I love that with the Ordinary you always get the percent told to you, I know 4% exists but there are health reasons for me to need to stay with 2% or lower. Loved this review Rob! I'd love to hear your thoughts on how effective Salicylic is when not formulated at a specific pH (obviously there's no water in this one so there's no pH). I thought Salicylic is most effective when between a pH of 3-4? Can you also confirm if this is oil free? Given Squalane is a hydrocarbon and technically not an oil right? 🤔❤
@MadAboutSkin
2 жыл бұрын
Hi hun, lovely to hear from you... your point on the PH is a really good one. Because salicylic acid is oil soluble its performance of this is not impacted by PH the way other exfoliating acids might be.. I know what your saying re the oil but I would still class this as oil based but im not a chemist and they may disagree with me.. I can however share my experiences and I have used this for over a month now on my oily acne prone skin and not had any issues. love xxxxx

I'm quite excited abt this since the PC one is rather meh for me as I still got blackheads despite using it and tretinoin at night. Plus having a oil vehicle makes a lot of sense since bha is oil soluble and I think it will help rlly sink into the pores. Plus as a person with acne oily skin my experience with squalane used by TO was exemplary so I can't wait
@CCallanan20
2 жыл бұрын
Were you rinsing the PC BHA off prior to Tretinoin application in the PM? If not, you might consider rinsing the BHA off, or only using the BHA in the AM. My understanding is that using Tret and a leave-on BHA could compromise the stability of the Tretanoin.

Hi everyone! I have a really really bad clogged nose and I don't think salicylic acid 2% works for me, I've tried both cosrx and the old ordinary one and it doesn't solve my blackheads and whiteheads. My skin is very hardy and I think it only reacts to stronger doses (I'm on tretinoin 0.1% right now and after retinization I don't really have any irritation or dry skin and it took care of my awful breakouts meanwhile 0.05% didn't work for me) if you guys can recommend me a product that could be effective on getting rid of my blackheads and whiteheads, I would appreciate that :)

If your skin is fully adjusted to your current actives and isn't particularly sensitive, my (mostly unqualified) opinion is that it's worth trying a couple days a week just to see what happens. It doesn't actually interact with vitamin c or retinol in any problematic way, so it's just a matter of how much your skin can tolerate.

Good review but what I don’t get is why most of the influencers say they have super oily skin acne prone skin but I don’t see a single acne or acne scar on their faces. They all are glowing and have clear skin like water. Makes it hard for me with making my decisions to try the product or not

Hi! I usually mix Pycnogenol with my moisturiser and apply it after my other serums, if I used the new anhydrous salicylic acid - because it’s oil based, would the Pycnogenol and the moisturiser still absorb well into my skin after using this?? Thanks :)
