Something akin to this I heard of which I don't know the name of. I think it origin is in Southern Mexico was a ritual where you would be sat in a dim room or cave infront of a mirror and a shaman would kill an iguana then place it next to you. As you sat there staring into the mirror, a serpent would appear behind you and speak through the dead, and you can ask it any question.

To say he's not a god or demon is somewhat misleading; although like many Aztec deities, Tez started out as a wizard-priest figurehead known as a Shaman, it IS recorded history that he later entered the Aztec pantheon of gods/deities. I've always had a huge interest with Mayan History since I was 7 years old, there was a game I use to play back in 1997 called ''Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror'' which was mostly about Tezcatlipoca and it also mentioned the mark of The Fifth Age after the forth coming eclipse of the sun in Mexico. Obviously computer games can be quite misleading which had a relation to Tezcatlipoca but when I looked up Tezcatlipoca on google when I was like 18 years old I was like ''Whoa The Mayan History was real not just a storyline in a game''. Thank you for the video it was great.

There is no duality in the mesoamerican/Toltec cosmos, only polarity. Everything is One (SenTeotl).
@Anyextee
6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing but there is duality in all human kind. One is undifferentiated consciousness, the absolute, unity...consciousness becoming aware of itself creates duality and it's represented throughout mesoamerican culture...and she wasn't referring to the Toltecs.
@arturosanji
6 жыл бұрын
There is duality in the mexica culture, this comes way earlier from the ancients indigenous people, this is mostly to understand that there is a balance in nature
@arturogonzalez-barrios8206
5 жыл бұрын
@@Anyextee it is impossible to separate Toltec theology from the mayor Mesoamerican understanding of religion. Heck, the word artist "Toltecatl" means artist. Duality as understood in mesoamerican tradition is to express one-ness, gods are both male and female and they form a single teotl at times: Ometehcutli and Omecihuatl are the creating couple that together are called Ometeotl (One God). Mictecacihuatl and Mictlantecuhtli, Tlaloc and Chalchihuitlicue, Quetzalcoatl (who is also by himself Ehecatl) and his twin Xolotl, these binaries are not opposing concepts like Yin Yang, but complimentary parts of a couple in support of each other I'm the creative endeavor. Historic Quetzalcoatl, Ce Acatl Topiltzin was from Tollan, in fact. So there is no conflict to duality, not to be confused with the opposition of an element to another like Atl-tlachinolli (water-fire) which means holy war and is the symbol that the Aztec eagle was holding, not a snake. Tezcatlipoca in his role of a smoking mirror, is understood as change through conflict.
@Anyextee
5 жыл бұрын
Arturo Gonzalez-Barrios yes, tlachinolli, which burns, ‘burnt water, the precious water’ a Mexica concept, based on the disguise of water vs fire, two elements physically opposed, and which symbolized for the Mexicas sacred war. I am familiar. Ive learned that from my wife and further through studying not only the academics, and scholarly works, but also the indigenous movements of Mexico. I’ve also written on the principles of Tezcatlipoca as well. My wife honors the tradition of her ancestors and Tezcatlipoca with obsidian black mirror practice under the moon during our AdeptExpeditions.com tours in Mexico. Very powerful practice of facing one’s own inner shadow self. The creative principles require opposition in order to manifest. So, yes, I agree with all you are expressing but again, she is not referring to the Toltecaye, in terms of the title of the elite builder / artisan class or degree of attainment known as the Toltecatl, who carried on the tradition of in tlilli in tlapalli and expressed these principles through their art, for example depicting the ixiptlah or xipehua (to flay skin) of animal as a ixiptlah or teixiptlah in what Sahagun considered a vicario. The esoteric concepts expressed in the art of the Toltec / artists were not fully understood by the Christian missionaries. They (and most of us today) view the mesoAmerican works objectively using cerebral intelligence rather then using what Schwaller de Lubicz would call “intelligence of the heart” or what Miguel Leon Portilla would call “Yolo-matiliztli”. So to be clear, I’m not saying the Toltec didn’t share theology but not all Nahuatl speaking ppl were Toltecs either. In the video, Karina is referring to a tradition that was practiced.l by a broader spectrum of people beyond just Toltecatl. Just as not all Toltec shared the same ideology. Further, there were in fact, Christian Toltecatl. The 4 Grammarians were initiated into the inner order of friar Sahagun under the auspices of the Franciscan order. Post conquest, the indigenous elite (of Toltecatl degree of attainment) were separated from their fathers and raised in the school spearheaded by the missionaries intended to impose the religion of New Spain at that time. That was the point of the Florentine Codex, to use the already heavily influenced (after several generations of schooling in) learned indigenous Toltec elite to paint and write their history, daily life, theology, cosmogony, etc...but even then, the Toltec were still carrying on some of the tradition, expressing their world view through this didactic art, a sacred science that evokes.

I don't know about that, but I do know that he created Land by luring the alligator (which is used to represent the land amidst the water) with his foot. The alligator lost it's lower jaw and could no longer sink this creating the floating landmass we see. Tezcatlipoca lost his foot, establishing one of other instances as sacrifice as a vehicle for creation.

Please provide the most compelling evidence you’ve come across to support your claim that you cannot become a nahual. Where in the video does she mention the Maya? What are you referring too? Further the people are called “Maya” not “Mayan”. Mayan is the language and civilization. The people are called Maya. But this video has nothing to do with the Maya. And the “Aztec” are actually the “Mexica”.
