“HEROES IN HEAVEN”
Firefighters never die, they’re simply reassigned.
The chief they serve is most supreme, their mission most divine.
They fight the raging fire of Hell, it’s a job that never ends.
They’ll battle those flames for eternity,
cause its Heaven they defend.
These heroes in Heaven who once lived on Earth,
were sent here so that they may learn,
the many skills they’ll need in Heaven,
when the time comes for them to return.
They’re known to us as heroes, these angels in disguise.
For the many lives they’ve rescued, from meeting with demise.
Often in the line of duty, their own lives they will give.
The ultimate price they sometimes pay,
so that someone else may live.
Although we mourn their tragic loss, we also must rejoice,
in knowing that they’ve been promoted,
to serve by God’s own choice.
As the flames of Hell burn out of control,
and the need for manpower grows,
Heaven calls for mutual aide, and another hero goes.
