Certainly an interesting and versatile little rifle. Good to see you are keeping the pool table in use🤣😂 Hopefully it won't be too long before you can get it and use it again👍.

Nice video Tony, Always nice to hear when people realize the difference in knock down power. There's nothing like pure energy 🤙

Always known knockdown power, my first 3 deer rifles were all 338s haha.

But its no use someone having a big banger that they cant shoot accurately. Always a great idea to try before committing to a purchase. And as Tony states some of the light medium cartridge chambered rifles are the hardest to shoot of all.

I have a kimber 84 hunter. Supposed to be a sub moa rifle. They don’t say what ammo they use to achieve that. I found all you said also. Spent over $300. Found no ammunition to group better than 2”. Went to my favorite hand load. (3006). 180 swift sirroco, 2825fps. Groups were consistently 1/2”. Three minutes between shots. Very light, very accurate rifle now. Should never have to go through all of this to get a rifle to shoot well. I have a lupold v6 3x18 on top. If I had a do over I would probably buy a Tika. Good video

Yeah they can be a bit fussy mate, mine didn't seem to be, luckily. I've since sold mine though! Glad you ended up getting yours to shoot 👌

Keep up the good work mate! Stag at approx 12:30 takes it like a champ? Looks like he was not hit. Also, what sling you find works well with it? I've got a rifle of similar weight and struggling to find a sling that won't slip all the time.

That stag wasn't hit mate, shot the stag that was just out of frame, i thought both were in frame but nope 🤦♂️😂 This is just a leather sling that Blacks Blades made mate. Doesn't slip too bad, but def recommend getting yourself a Talarik sling hook from Moroka30 and you'll be laughing 👌

Nice vid again. And btw there is an aftermarket company that does rings for the Z5 called znikiz or something like that. And how did the SST bullets go in the .308, I know they are extremely accurate and good for long range but did they make it through a sambar at close range? I’ve got a heap of 150’s loaded up for my .270 that I can’t decide whether or not I want to use, I usually run 130gr woodleighs but the SST’s shoot almost twice as tight groups

Yeah I will have to have a look at those aftermarket rings for sure, thanks! SSTs were brilliant at all distances mate, i avoid shoulder shooting like the plague though which helps. Heart/lung shots I never had an issue with penetration 👍 the 150s for your 270 would be fine in my opinion, i know a few people that use 140s through their 270s without an issue.

Tony Gillahan yeah sweet. I’ve got a Z5 5-25 on the .223 it’s mint. Almost too nice of a scope for the .223 though, I reckon I’ll chuck it on the new 7mm rem mag when I get it, make use of the 25x power at longer range atleast. It’s either the 5-25 Z5 or a 4.5-14x40 leupold VX3i

Very nice, my little stumpy ruger american predator is 3.2kg too. How great are they to carry. Currently I'm running 165gn reloads, they hit well (but not quite 270WSM well) . Haven't tried 178 or 180's. You obviously like the weight over the traditional 150gn pills in the 308Win. What's the barrel length the kimber? 22"?

That's awesome mate and yeah absolute joy to carry! 22" tube and 1:10 twist which is why I like running longer/heavier pills.

Hey mate, how do you find the eldx's with their penetration and weight retention, specifically 0-300 yards. Any separation? Punching through? Under the off side skin? Keen to hear your thoughts as I've herd mixed opinions....
@tonygillahan

Wouldn't use them if I didn't like them mate 👌 I don't weigh projectiles, I used to when I was a Barnes fanboy haha but things change and I'm no longer a Barnes fan at all now. They have their place, at 0-300yds and driven hard as possible, but that's about it in my opinion. The ELDX normally don't punch through sambar at any range, especially in the 308. But they give impressive internal damage and personally I normally rather one hole and a lot of internal damage than 2 holes and a pinhole.

@mikerobinson6606 it should do mate, the hardest part about shooting it is it's nearly too light. So just very unstable to shoot longer ranges with. All the best with it 🍻
