the inline skates bit took me back. On 1993 the movie Airborne came out and it was the early 90's staple of everything. The main character, Mitchel, was basically Shawn but older. The reason I asked for inline skates for Christmas 1993. 🤣

@dragonflash09

Right? It could have been a regular season Phillies game, haha!
@jeremywj

It was specifically stated "bat boy at the opening game of the world series". This episode aired Oct 22nd, 1993 and game one that year was October 16th. Therefore, it would had to of been for the '94 world series, which of course never happened. So we can sort of make this work by assuming the people running the contest knew it was for 1994 and they were able to predict the 1994 world series would not occur. Therefore, they could safely offer up such an outrageous prize knowing they would not have to honor it.

What is the difference between bombardment and dodgeball? Deflecting a ball with a ball is allowed. Bombardment is played with two teams each with pins and dodgeballs. The objective is to knock over all the opposing team's pins or eliminate all the players on the other team.

I’m watching this after listening to your podcast with Susan Jansen and I just have to get this out here. Susan left out what she’s currently up to. Her and her mother are slumlords. They own and run 2 very run down apartment complexes in LA. They refuse their tenants proper updates majority of tenants are suffering with mold, termites, leaking ceilings, electrical problems that won’t allow them to even run small ac units to keep their pets cool in the summer. It’s so disgusting and disappointing to hear her claim she’s doing charity work while price gauging regular people just trying to keep their apartment livable at her complexes. Multiple units have had sewage floods one so severe it left the person unhoused and she had been a resident there over 25 years. There’s so many more stories of her and her family’s treatment of tenants, managers, and workers. The comments on Reddit about that episode are so spot on she is not a good person.

This is in reply to the recent "Ethan Suplee Meets World" episode. There is a Frankie scene that is absolutely some of the best comedy I've ever seen. There's an upcoming Season 2 episode (I think) where Cory and Shawn befriend Frankie to avoid a beatdown and help Frankie "Woo" a girl he is in love with. (One of Shawn's best lines are here, "I don't want to die before I know what 'Woo' means!") -- The scene: Cory has brought Frankie into his kitchen and Eric walks downstairs. Eric sees Frankie standing there and instinctively does this back-slide against the counter in sheer terror. It is one of the most hilarious physical comedy moments I've ever seen. 😂😂😂 Thanks so much for this podcast. It is fun to rewatch these episodes all these years later!

I read something about the topanga naming. I'm not sure if it's true but I read online that Michael Jacob's was driving and he got a call on his car phone that he needed to name that character. He was driving past the Topanga canyon during that conversation and said how about Topanga? They agreed. Then it said that Danielle Fishel responded by saying, if he drove a little further her character would have been named Canooga.

To me Shawn seemed to have at least as big of a role as episode 4 but you said this was actually the first episode you filmed. So I wonder what made episode 4 feel like it was so much bigger? It's so weird because it seems to really fit into the progression that it was aired because it does take it for granted that the parents know Shawn (and random third friend) and then it's even normal for him to help Corey with some pretty crazy schemes. So I'm actually really surprised!

But I have sensory sensitivities so the the transition little music thing is torture, bit line the theme song become for you. 😝 It sounds like someone snoring at the beginning now, and it playing twice in a row....ack! As the kid sitting at home trying to figure out if anyone would miss me if I dropped dead I really have 0 sympathy for most of my classmates in HS and even less for the ones from middle school. Like my animals kept me alive period bar none that was my reason for living. I'm 31 and I don't really care what the people who treated me like shit were going through it's no excuse to treat people poorly. If I was aware of that they could have been too. Honestly thinking about it, the day I no longer think that when I'm having a rough day and when I can comfortably wear shorts I'll forgive them. I live in FL and wearing shorts is still super upsetting every year I try and the emotions are still there
