Are you interested in comparing tabulature reading of Allemande “La Conversation” by Robert de Visée from Vaudry de Saizenay manuscript with “Pièces de théorbe et de luth mises en partition, dessus et basse”, printed in Paris in 1716., while at the same time very, very slowly reading the Advertissement? I would love to learn more of this Allemandes history. It first appears in tabulature for baroque guitar in Livre de Guitarre, 1682. ).
While reading the tabulature we should always think of these two lines, written as melody and bass and mind the relations they form. The conversation is between them.
Robert de Visée (c. 1655 - 1732/1733) was a lutenist, guitarist, theorbist and viol player at the court of the French kings Louis XIV and Louis XV, as well as a singer, teacher and composer for lute, theorbo and guitar.
Andrej Jovanić plays Allemand on théorbe de pièces.
