Palm fruit for chewing Betel ! Chewing betel was traditional just like chewing gum! Nice Market really busy, but did you buy something to eat? Shrimps don't look fresh and the delicious tasting will decrease but you know natural might be the best even it doesn't look good! that's my idea! Nice video again one more time! Nice to watch!~

does my heart good to see what food does for peoples souls. here, just the shear abundance/freshness/prices can do nothing but bring joy. the morning market would be ideal for me, less crowds and first picks. Darren, we have the farmers market in Detroit, where I lived for awhile that has gone on for a century it seems. when I lived there, we would go at 6 am every Saturday with our wagon. the prices were good, nowhere near them in Thailand, but it was such an enjoyable time. we also had "flower day" around mothers day for plants to garden. we are well away from there now on a very small farm, but we still have small stands in the summer. to be able to shop like that every morning would be a gas. another fun vid brother, I liked the gal who had all her shopping on the mirrors of her scooter! hugs to all, Chris

+Michigan Mister Yes, this was a great market, and yeah, there's nothing quite like the freshness of the morning at these markets. That sounds nice regarding the Detroit market. I had a part time job in a market in my hometown for about 10 years when I was finishing school and going through uni. I think that had a lot to do with my fascination with markets. I'll definitely be making a video there when we're in Australia in April. It is quite amazing what people can fit on their bikes here. Here's a link to my favourite Thailand bike video of all time, I'm sure it'll give you and the wife a smile :) kzitem.info/news/bejne/zaVjwIiKsn2WZoI. Hugs back at ya!

Hey Daren another awesome vid. I noticed that you are coming back to Australia in April, will Aorn and Ananda be coming as well? if they are coming I hope they have lots of fun and are spoilt rotten. Hope you do lots of vids whilst you are here. Have a great trip and travel safe. The fruit at 53 sec is Rosella, and is used to make jams( had to text my mum and dad to get the name cos we grew it when we lived in QLD - when I was a kid).

+Heidi Lock Hi Heidi, Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, we are all in Australia now, we arrived in Adelaide on Saturday morning. And yes, they are having lots of fun and being spoilt rotten :). There will be some videos from Oz coming soon. Thanks for letting my know about yet another fruit, it seems you know all the right people when it comes to fruit. All the best, Darren

Loved the video, your just getting better and better at it. Stupid Question but are there shopping malls close to you or is it a rural area you live in. The markets seem to be very popular though.More than likely the freshest produce in the area. Any way all the best to you and your family Greg.

+Lazy Travel Days There are 2 shopping malls about 7km from where I live. They're pretty much the same as the shopping malls in any other country. Where I live though is kind of rural, it's in a small town of a few hundred people (there are maybe one or 2 other westerners in the town) which is between 2 big towns that are about 20km apart. Yes, generally people seem to do most of their fresh food shopping at markets here. They generally seem to go to supermarkets for their packet and processed foods. And yes, the food does usually seem to be much fresher at the markets. All the best to you and the family too!
