Hi Darren.. Andrew from Oz.. love your videos.. came over to Thailand last year (stayed mostly in Khao Lak) for my first time last year and loved it.. coming back again this year in October and coming to Khao Lak and then Ao Nang.. One thing that has always perplexed me.. the 'take aways' that are in bags (kinda remind me of getting a goldfish from the pet shop).. what's the best way to eat them..? I imagine they would be hard to handle when they are a quite liquid in consistency..? Or am i overthinking it?
@darrenb3
7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andrew, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! The best way to eat them is to put them in a bowl and eat, you can heat them first if you want. I made a video a while back where I bought foods like these for dinner, you can see it here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/l2mY14iAcImeqIY I hope you have a great holiday in October!

The fried chicken is the best! I found a cart last trip that did battered fried chicken fillet which was chopped up into bite size pieces, then mixed with raw red onion, raw green or spring onion, chilli powder and lime juice. All served with steamed rice for 45 baht. So tasty and cheap. If i got too drunk and got to the cart late and they were sold out i was always so disappointed. Thanks again Darren!

It's sweet, a little bit sour and slightly spicy. Usually the vendors make the sauces themselves and it's often the vendor with the best sauce who is most popular.

Hi Darren, another great video with some interesting Thai market food. You may get this alot but I need to ask you having been to Thailand once and also Bali many times. I was always told dont eat from the street vendors (Bali) which is understandable. How do you get on in Thailand with the food markets and safety of the food that is cooked, are there any do's or dont's? Loved the omelettes while there also the Roti pancakes. Keep up the great work....cheers

Yes, I agree with what Cango81 said, iIf the place is busy and filled with locals, then join the queue. There have been a couple of places I didn't buy from, because they didn't look clean enough for my standards, but I've been eating street food in Thailand for 5 and a half years, nearly daily for the last 4 and a half and I've never had a problem with it.
