⚠WATCH NEXT: Is Pattaya REALLY the best place to live long-term? kzitem.info/news/bejne/tqOFuqt-a4ajrI4

I live in Kalasin on a farm that is 45 rai, I manage on 20000B a month. my pension is about 80000B a month if you live a normal life here like you live in Europe you don't need a lot of money. When I lived outside Pattaya, I rented a house for 3500B a month with 3 bedrooms and a large outdoor space 5 minutes from the beach. I have learned that there are 3 different price classes in Thailand 1 Tourist price 2 Tourist with girlfriend 3 Thai who negotiate for you and do not say they are negotiating for a tourist
@benfishermin

3500 baht per month would be awesome. Sounds like I need a Thai person doing my negotiating then.

@@benfishermin I came to Thailand for the first time in 1990 and I have learned never to buy anything on the market, if I have a home I make sure my neighbors are Thai. then you can get a good price. but if they know you're a tourist, they'll charge you. everything that has to do with the market or housing, I let a Thai take care of it. the only time I buy anything is at big C or similar.

Great vlog! Amazing place to stay! Would you recommend going there in winter?

Thanks, yea it's great here. Winter is the best time (November, December, January, February, March) to visit for good weather.

Nice find! Will be checkin that out next month. I wonder if you get stuck with airbnb noisy weekenders nearby. Also, is it near a baht bus route?
@benfishermin
8 ай бұрын
There aren't too many airbnbs inside, it's mostly long stays, since they don't really allow it for the most part but a few people still do it. It was quiet here for me. Baht bus is pretty close by but still have to walk a decent distance just to get to the main road, from any of the Laguna buildings. That walk gets old, this place was much better for me once I rented a motorbike (recommended for this building).

Thanks for the tour! I decided against Laguna 3 because it's really kinda far from things (I considered walking the 2? miles to Food Mart and back on a daily basis lol) I am also going to Manila this year but it already looks like 50% more cost for accommodation and still worse than Thailand. But it's good to have options rather than live and die by one place.
@benfishermin

I only really started enjoying living there when I rented the motorbike. I don't think longterm without a bike there is too great. At this point I realize I would need to rent a place that's pretty much beachfront if I wasn't going to rent a bike. Manila accomodations definitely look like you don't get much for your money I agree!

If you’re still looking for something long-term there’s a channel called Reds who tours cheaper condos in Pattaya/Jomtien. Many of these don’t have two-month deposit requirement, in fact some don’t have any deposit at all. Uploads very regularly, well worth checking out if budget is tight.
@benfishermin

Great tip I'm gonna check them out. If I could find something with a kitchen/stove and no deposit I'd be pretty happy!

@@benfishermin sure! Here’s the link to his channel if you need it. Most of his condos seem be one month deposit deals but there are variations on either side. www.youtube.come/@PremierTraveler

Bargain😁. Great info to go direct to the office. Does that price include electric? How much is motorbike rental? Will you go to chang mai?
@benfishermin
8 ай бұрын
Agreed it's a bargain. Electric and water is separate, around $50-$70 per month or so. The motorbike rental varies but I got a 125cc honda click for 2 weeks 1750thb. Usually it's either 200 per day or 3000 per month otherwise. I'll check out chiang mai yea because I've never been there and I'm very curious!

Another vlogger, who used to live in Thailand has recently moved to Siquijor Philippines. By pure coincidence he’s just posted a vlog on accommodation he’s about to move into, for exactly the same price. Though the situation and quality is no comparison! His channel name is Speaking of Asia!

I wonder if you leased the place for a year, could you take off for a month or two and sublet it while you're gone?
@benfishermin
8 ай бұрын
Most of the time I believe the owner of the unit is not telling anyone he's subletting or renting on airbnb. I don't believe it's usually allowed, especially for renting daily or weekly. If you sublet to a friend or a monthly tenant you can do it quite easily. In this building it's common that people leave the key in the mailbox for self check-in.

To me it's not bad, I thought it was bad when I was just in Bali, here feels fine to me. I've been here once when there was bad air quality for 2 days which sucked. It can definitely come and go but overall it's not bad for me since I haven't spent time in the north (much worse there).

I agree 100% I lived in Mindoro and A.C. in the Philippines. Horrible food and crazy rental prices for old fashion condos. Infrastuctures is like Thailand 20 years back ! Moved to Bangsaen Thailand. Absolutely fantastic food and great value modern condos. Only the visa is a bit a problem. Ir was easier to extend my stay in Philippibes but no way I will go back to leave there. 😊

The main reason PI is as popular as it is is that the women are easier to “acquire”/more desperate to hook up with any old foreigner for a financially beneficial arrangement. With the emphasis on old 😂
