Then take the board exam. After passing the board exam you need to undergo a resident physician for about 2 to 3 yrs then after that a specialization for 4 to 5 yrs and so forth. In countries like the US, there’s a lot of barriers, expensive tuition fees and it is very competitive to get into. You will need tons of requirements and you should be one of the best in order for a med school to accept you. Meanning they will also check if you take AB calc, chem during hs and have good grades. Not to mention all the shadowing you need to have as a requirement as well. Because Philippine med school is patterned to the American med school curriculum. The books used in Philippine med schools are from American authors and the medium of instruction is English. Philippine med schools are expensive (esp. for us Filipinos), but it is still way cheaper and easier to get into compared to the US.
@BluishHuntress

I would also add that being an IMG Physician makes it hard to get into a lucrative medical residency such as Surgery. 6th - 7th minute....what do you mean? I'm confused. You can go directly to medical school after highschool in Thailand? In the Philippines there is a 4 year pre-med course then years medical school.

It seems like she is not Thai for many reason, her name, her English accent, and we call ourself “Thai” not “Tai”. BTW, she is good actress. 😅

Wow, that thai girl is soo pretty. It is quite an amazing story. She went to a nursong school, became a nurse and later moved on to become a doctor. Excellent career pathway, she has thought it through very well. I can see that her future is very bright. I am under impression that schools in the philippines are good but they focus too much on testing rather than teaching. Also the facilities are not that good. I wish i could go and visit Thailand, I love spicy food.

"na" is also an added word in Thai language at the end of a statement, usually to soften or lighten the tone

congratulations! thats true that it was cheaper and affordable cost of living. just take good care of your studies and make your family and friends proud of you, it doesnt mean cheaper coz no matter where your going to study if your not taking good care of your studies your not gonna reach nothing, hence there was a medical schools/university too that are expensive and high standards when it comes to academic standard, for be able to pass you really need to study harder , see De lassale university, Ateneo de manila, UP diliman UST. and others.
