Hello Krystal! Here are the travel times: 1. Train from Bangkok to Padang Besar - 18 hours 2. Train from Padang Besar to Butterworth - 2 Hours 3. Boat from Butterworth to Georgetown (10 minutes) We stayed overnight in Georgetown. 4. Bus from Georgetown to Kuala Lumpur - 4 hours The ride was exhausting, but it’s definitely now one of my most unforgettable moments 😊 Hope you have a safe trip!

‼QUICK NOTE: If have a working visa in Thailand and plan to come back after your trip to Malaysia, don't forget to apply for a RE-ENTRY PERMIT! ‼ You can get this at the immigration closest to you and it costs 1,000 baht. Have a safe trip, loves! 🥰🚂

I am really excited to travel by train to Malaysia from Thailand 😊 As a Myanmar Citizen, I am not sure how I can pass the immigration. Should I apply the E visa first?
@jamrellb

Hi! I’m not sure what the requirements are for Myanmar citizens. Please check with your embassy to avoid any immigrations problems. Good luck and safe travels!

Is there any way to hop on the train from a stop in Southern Thailand to Malaysia? Loved your insights, thank you!
@jamrellb
Жыл бұрын
Hi! If it’s along the train route, yes you can. The train makes stops and I saw people boarding the train at different stops. I think you have to ask your nearest train station for the routes/train arrival times in your area 😊 Let me know if there’s a stop near your area! I’m sure your input will be helpful to everyone reading the comments.

I am an Indian and I want to go from Malaysia to Phuket, Do I need to have a visa to go by this train and enter another country?
@jamrellb
7 ай бұрын
Hi! It depends on the travel requirements for Indian passport holders. I’ve checked and Thailand is granting a 30-day visa free entry for Indians till May 10, 2024. After that, you may need to apply for visa to enter Thailand. This also applies when you enter by train. Please double check with the embassy closest to your area to avoid problems 😊 Hope this helps.

The ticket is only sold at counter? Is there any ticket sold online?
@jamrellb

Hi! I wanted to buy online at first too, but it’s a little bit more expensive and depending on the agency, you’ll have to pick up the ticket at their office or pay extra for them to deliver it to you.

@@ihavetwohandxx9060 I got my money exchanged at Superrich. Any currency exchange place will do basta watch out lang for the rates. You can compare the exchange rates with the global price online so you know if the shop is overpricing or not. I have Visa card but the ATMs in Malaysia accept both Visa and Mastercard. Hope you and your "bodyguard" have a safe trip!

Hi me and my girlfriend want to go to Asia but my girlfriend is not fond about going to Thailand. But since we are from Canada, I found good prices on plane ticket to Bangkok. From, there where is best to go? We thought taking the train like you to Malaysia or do you have suggestions maybe better the Philippines? We can fly from BKK perhaps too!! At least, I can say I was in Bangkok for 3-4 days just to recuperate from jetlag. Ah! Of course, we would like for snorkeling and beach for my girlfriend! Thank you!!

Hi Daniel! It depends on what type of travel you guys want to experience 😊 Thailand has beautiful temples and delicious food while the Philippines has beautiful beaches, islands, and you can even swim with whales there! Malaysia is like a mix of Southeast Asia, China, and India- a unique mix of cultures. I think it would be better to decide on the experiences you both want to get and decide on the best places from there. 😊 Hope you both have a safe trip!
