During our last trip down to the caves of southern Thailand, we called into Tham Klang (ถ้ําคลัง) or Klang Cave to check out the new facilities.
Unfortunately it was still closed for diving but we took the opportunity to explore the dry section and shoot some video.
Tham Klang was discovered only a few years ago. In the beginning only 36 people per day were allowed in the cave, this number was increased to 60 persons, after the recent improvements we are unsure if this has increased.
Tham Klang is a cave that displays an incredible variety of stalactites (hanging) and stalagmites (standing) creations of growing stones. There are columns, curtains in various colours, so called drinking straws, curly hair of only one to two millimetres diameter, and many more different shapes that are normally not visible in just one cave.
We look forwards to diving it again on our next trip.
Join us if you can.
