Every. Damn. Time. 🤣 I was raised by a foster family with basically every culture you can think of. Our Thanksgivings were like a potluck of all different types of goodness. I grew up in Georgia and can make traditional southern American thanksgiving dishes from scratch. I do it every year. I literally invite people over so I won't have so many left overs, I literally would go cook for these people. I typically make... Collard greens from scratch the right way all day, real mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread dressing (the rest of the country calls it stuffing), cornbread of course both sweet and a little spicy, green bean casserole, a glazed ham, deviled eggs, etc etc. when I was married, my ex husband was Navy. On base I'd invite all his colleagues that couldn't go home for the holidays over. I converted many of them that would say nonsense like "I don't like collard greens" well too bad, you're getting a bite on your plate... If you don't like it you don't have to eat it after that 😂 they always went back for more.

Thanksgiving is whatever it is we can afford for dinner as long as the family is together. I remember one time we got the Turkey donated by the church and nothing else. My husband bought some Spanish bread like baguettes and we had Turkey sandwiches with mayo and mustard … my daughter was little and our little family had the best thanksgiving anyone could hope for. We were together, healthy and alive!

My family broker than a bitch and we STILL make sure we whip shit up on thx giving. Always find a way to get a turkey and or ham. All u need is potatoes, turkey and cranberry sauce and with the rest of your household ingredients u should be fine. Ain't no way in hell I'm goin to no thanksgiving where they serve canned ham like that and hot dogs. They could have at least sliced the ham and fried it so that it would be edible

Nah. I grew up poor and on food stamps, you can still make a feast. For example pasta and cheese is literally so cheap and likely given at food pantries, potatoes are also incredibly cheap. You stay home and enjoy your self rightness. This family has little but the home seems warm and welcoming. Love abounds! ❤
