I had a little caterpillar I found when i was very pregnant and very emotional. I named him Bernard, made an enclosure, he disappeared and I kinda assumed he died or something, didn't really do anything about it, just felt sad and put the little enclosure away. Then one day my cat was wagging out looking inside it. BERNARD WAS A MOTH! Apparently his type bury themselves unstead of making the cocoon. Released him in a really nice, spacious area with trees. I say "Hi Bernard!" when we take a walk in the area bc I am choosing to believe that he is the oldest living moth in the world and had grand and great grandmoths named after him

They do still make a cocoon, just underground. I discovered it with a not so cute story about how we thought Dread, our scorpion, liked hornworms (a type of moth caterpillar) and kept giving them to him, only for us to come back from a week away and find his enclosure FULL of gigantic Hawk moths with 6 inch wingspans and our poor little scorpion backed into the farthest corner of his hide, absolutely terrified of the monsters outside. Scorpions naturally eat moths, but apparently not moths twice their size. We had to go through his substrate to make sure there wasn't any left and we found two cocoons in earlier stages. It was very informative for us, but poor Dread was not having it. He learned the meaning of his name that week.

I once sent my grandma flowers out of nowhere. It wasn't a special day or anything - just saw an ad and thought, "This'll be fun!" And, I did not include a name to show who they were from... *evil grin* My mom said Grandma brought it up for weeks. She never told her, nor did I. This was a couple of years after my grandpa passed, so she hadn't had anniversary dinners and surprise gifts in a while. I just liked the idea of giving her something different to think about, and if I ever did tell her, she would've been determined to give me money for doing it. Like, she'd try to sneak it in my purse or would shove it in my pocket during a hug if I said no... She passed a little over a year ago now. It still makes me smile to think how she never knew I did it. 😊 Thanks for triggering the memory with that video of a girl shoving a bouquet at her guy!

If I was an influencer who filmed at the gym I would individually ask every person nearby or anyone who could possibly accidentally be in the shot if it was okay with them if I filmed. If they weren’t comfortable I would find a different place to film or wait until they have gone. If they are in the middle of a rep I would wait until they were done to ask. I would wait or arrive at a time where the gym was as empty as possible.

I am tired of hearing all these weird, disrespectful, or dangerous ways of protesting like chucking food at paintings or destroying art or artifacts or doing some weird shit like cementing your hands to a pavement...like what??? Smh that's all, and Charlotte, my beautiful potato Queen - thank you for brightening our days with your presence!!! 👑🥔😘💖💋

This gym video shows us that a lot of influencers are potentially one vision of god or “near death” experience away from becoming a cult leader. They already got the entitlement, narcissism, humiliation of others, gaslighting and their self proclaimed magical and s*xual powers (OF anyone?)… wtf 😂

I'm not a mom but I do have many younger siblings, and it really does affect them. I'm glad they don't have access to TikTok because my parents would not allow them to have it if they tried, but even other things like Instagram can influence in a variety of ways. Like others have commented, social media should not be a place where young people Are being literally influenced and taught things that they should not know yet, or even just having sudden fears about having sicknesses that don't apply to them in most cases. Growing up has its various forms of insecurity anyway but add social media to the mix and it Hass to be adding a load of unnecessary stress that these kids do not need to deal with. The kids need to grow up properly and have a good head on their shoulders so that they can be discerning with things on social media as adults

As a mother of 2 girls. 1 being 16, the other 12. And the dumb things they hear off tiktok absolutely drive me insane! The questions that are constantly being asked bc “they heard it on tiktok 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️….. I HATE social media for teenagers. They take everything and RUN with it!! 😂😂 Not to mention the anxiety it gives them from some of the videos they see, and that’s when I start getting questioned about if whatever they have seen could happen to them. It’s NOT fun. Seriously. I’ve had to tell my 16 year old that if the questions don’t stop I’m taking tiktok away. I don’t mind answering questions to my kids, that’s my job. But the problem is the questions are absolutely ridiculous. Such as “Do you think I could have throat cancer?” GIRL PLEASE, YOU’RE 16!

I only want to point out that the fact that someone's a teenager or a child doesn't exclude them from having cancer (lowering the chances of some types of cancer yes, but being totally impossible... Not really)
@deannewhitney
Жыл бұрын
@@SigridStorjern my point was that there was no causes, symptoms, reasons, goes to the Dr regularly. I find it unrealistic and very unlikely for a 16 year old who does not smoke, so drugs, etc. It’s purely off tiktok. I actually do have a 17 year old child that had undiagnosed malformation in his brain at 16 it ruptured causing a massive brain bleed. He had complained of headaches behind his right eye for 3 weeks. Took him to the Dr, repeatedly. Told it was seasonal allergies . He was in a coma for 6 months. Told he probably wouldn’t survive. To prepare for the worst. Well, he’s now working on walking, he can talk, he lost his hearing, but he’s a fighter. I was in no way saying that awful things can’t and won’t happen to young people. I was just referring to the tiktok part

@@deannewhitney I wasn't trying to say otherwise in your particular case (also your son is one hell of a warrior, i'm glad he's doing better now. I'm sorry you both had to go thr ough that joke of initial medical attention). My comment was just a reminder that sometimes people write it off as impossible and as you may well know, it's really not. Also I kinda suspect almost every kid/teenager (being on tiktok or not) goes through that phase of "could I have this? How do I know? What if i had that?" A little hypochondria and the usual teenager dumbness play a role in that too.
@deannewhitney

@@SigridStorjern I didn’t take it in a bad way. I did realize that how I worded the first comment might of sounded like I was stating that a child COULD not have cancer. And thank you for the uplifting words. He is a testament to medical “standards” that we were told he would NEVER be capable of again. 🙏🙏

My 15 year old brother got cancer, had never done anything to warrant its growth. He's in remission, thankfully, but yeah, can't use age and behavior to rule out who could get cancer. I think it should be more normalized to get tests done throughout life, because you never know. I mean, heck, St Jude's is a thing. Age has nothing to do with it. (But I do agree on some OTHER stupid stuff on social media being bad for teens/kids. We won't know the full effect of it for decades).
