Everybody is focused in Poppy's weird videos, but nobody notices her fantastic Music! It's so deep, talking about consumism and the pop culture esthetics... It is awesome!
@MyoticTesseract

Her videos almost all portray those messages too, though. Just in a different way. Her music is an ironic message about such things as pop culture and the music industry, while her KZitem channel has this sarcastic, grim, usually abstract satire of everything going on. Her music is smart lyrics over typical(-ish) pop instrumentals to hammer down the point while her videos are like surreal commentary in the more horror-like direction.

I agree, I think we humans are too obsessed with placing meaning in everything, trying to "understand" things. When we can't understand something we freak out and call it "bad", "weird", or "chaotic". We need to let go of the idea that everything has a meaning because we are the ones giving everything meaning, if you get what I mean. So in reality, 'weird' doesn't exist. It's just us humans that feel that way about things we don't understand. Sorry if I was being a little too philosophical. I'm just glad someone else feels the same.

I get so mad when people don't understand Poppy. Like calling her videos creepy and weird. They're meant to represent certain things wrong with society. Or when they say "I'm proving I was a fan before she was popular and on the radio!". She's already popular so obviously you're not a fan. And she's most likely not gonna be on the radio. Not all famous people are. Like, I'm sure a lot of you like Melanie Martinez and yet, when was the last time you've heard HER on the radio? And the thing that makes me the most mad is when people make conspiracies about her even though they don't know anything about her. I'm sure if you took the time to actually get involved more with the story of Poppy, Mars, Titanic and even Charlotte it would be a lot easier to make conspiracy theories. edit: yooo please don’t take this comment seriously i was an edgy 14 year old who wanted to prove i was a “true fan” 😭😭

AverageJo Pity Party was on the radio for a few months last year, I think. Poppy probably won't be on the radio because she doesn't have a record label and most of her songs aren't something you'll hear on the radio, except bubblebath.

*["American Kids" Lyrics by Poppy]* [Verse 1] I live under a rock with a blacklight I'm a dumb pop star in my own right Started life at age 15, got ahead with fake IDs If you're with me Sold my soul to the man with a handshake Lost control but I don't think it's too late We're dying young on broadcast news Forever 21 is cool if I make it [Pre-Chorus 1] Girls, let's put on all of our clothes [Chorus] I don't wanna be like American kids I am not on drugs and I've never been I don't care about your party, I belong to nobody I don't wanna be like American kids Drugs don't work like they did for my parents I'm not down with the new hit 'Cause today I just don't get American kids [Verse 2] Last time I told mom that "I love you" Was the last time I ate food from a drive-thru It never happened like they say I think my father may be gay but I don't know So I burned all my shit in a bonfire All my teen regrets were a trip wire I should be everything you hate I should be higher now than space but I'm static [Pre-Chorus 2] Boys aren't even boys anymore (Huh) [Chorus] I don't wanna be like American kids I am not on drugs and I've never been I don't care about your party, I belong to nobody I don't wanna be like American kids Drugs don't work like they did for my parents I'm not down with the new hit 'Cause today I just don't get American kids [Outro] Liberty isn't cheap and it ain't free I'm a millennial, blame it all on me American kids American kids American kids

Y'all are commenting about how good her music (which I can't deny cause it's great) and that's exactly what titanic and poppy want you to say. Poppy is a portrayal of an average, basic pop star. Just a character that shows how easily people get sucked into pop culture or famous pop stars. Take a look at her KZitem channel and you'll find so many different messages that pop stars do
