I like the lighter weight of the Booker because it enables the vehicle to traverse soggy ground better than an M1 series tank. I've heard that light and medium armor cannot compete with heavy armor on the battlefield, but battles have been won by light and medium armor because they can get in places heavy armor can't go. I don't know if that formula still applies today, with modern engines, but the M1 series tanks are mighty heavy.

I do believe that there is s replacement on the way for the Bradly - the M-30 (?). I also think the M-10 Booker has a hybrid drive system to improve fuel efficiency and supply electricity for future weapon systems - lasers. I think lasers will be front and center for future weapons. Also, the US military is actively working to use alternative fuels and reduce fuel consumption. That may give their modern weapon systems very significant advantages.

ELECTRIC JAMMERS ARE KILLING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF HIMARS
@D3nchanter
Ай бұрын
they're really not. all we did was upgrade the missiles with passive sensors. or vary how active systems functioned (not activating until required, so jammers couldn't detect them incoming to jam them). the system is still VERY lethal. 2 himars or one MLRS firing all ammunition (a total of 12 rockets) takes 6s for 2 himars or 12s for one mlrs... plus travel time. and when they arrive this can kill anyone out in the open for an entire square MILE. underestimate the himars/mlrs systems at your own peril

Let’s get real here. If the US was like Russia or China we could flatten the majority of the countries in the world. We just rarely do that . We go in and try n put governments back together which never works. Our military would never get the green light if they didn’t try. Ok here is one time that we 100% was not ready for our enemy. Vietnam in the beginning hit us with them underground tunneling systems that killed n wounded so many of our troops. They slowed our push forward and the terrain there was probably one of their biggest weapons against us. However, by the end of the war we started destroying tunnels and just flattening cities. Inevitably by time we figured out how to fight them and the change in political structures along with American citizens rioting and protesting in the streets we no longer had an agenda worth fighting for. The read we lost that war was not bc they killed and destroyed us as much as the fight was far more taxing on the battlefield, pockets, at home and to our political image to continue with what we had to do to continue. I can’t remember what the amount was but u can google it. Once we seen how tough the tunnels were we dropped 1000’s of 1000 lb bombs destroying whole networks of tunnels n cities. It had become savage!

afghanistan didn't really push the usa out. it was more economics and politics. there was no good reason to stay in that shithole. and the instant we left? those idiots started killing themselves again. vietnam had the living FUCK bombed out of their country... you're talking tens of thousands of tons of bombs PER DAY. they lost lives, they lost infrastructure, they lost limbs, they got mined, they're STILL losing limbs TODAY. the death tolls were clearly against vietnamese fighters the usa? completely untouched by that conflict, except for the soldiers psychologically speaking and the wounded. which we do our best to care for (admittedly poorly). the two nations in NO way had an equal outcome from that conflict. the usa withdrew, but vietnam definitely was the loser.
