If all companies want dual axles...could you put the third axle in the trailer with a small battery which loads downhill and with solar? It could help a lot in the mountains on weaker trucks.

They have stated they plan to. The problem with medium duty trucks is there is a lot more regulations they have to go through. It will probably be a retrofit kit. They just have partners that they will build trucks for first as they grow. They don’t even have a building to manufacture their trucks in yet.

I have cousins who work as designers/engineers for one of the big3 about 6 years ago I pitched this idea specifically for the HD pickup market (350/3500) chassis trucks. All we got was an electric pickup that was doomed by the specific issues with pure EV that I warned them about.

Buddy... When do you IPO 😆But in all seriousness I don't think there is anyone on youtube, heck even anyone in the industry you are in that has demonstrated such a great ability to come up with an idea, build it from the ground up and come in on time and under budget as edison motors. The way you have come up with a proof of concept and built a prototype that basically looks like it could roll of the line is incredible. Just think, in the terms of major manufacturer's it can take 2-3 years just to coordinate a model change and you guys have come up with something that no one has ever tried before IN JUST 1 YEAR with a handful of guys and pure motivation. The way that you talk about working with different attachment companies really shows that you are committed to not only the short term but the long term aspect of the company. It makes me very excited to see how you will scale the company in the future and really shake up the market as a whole, as you consistently demonstrate your "tik-tok" video idea into a niche that I am positive anyone who uses a transport truck for any purpose will be able to appreciate as a SOLID alternative to Fully electric. No doubt now that the truck is fully built you are probably more nervous than you were trying to source all the parts and put the truck together, because the reality has set in that you have really started a legitimate company and you will have to learn a heck of a lot more in order to get the truck into full production as you desperately try to meet the overwhelming demand that I'm sure you will soon have for these trucks. You have within your hand a company that is like no other and willing to do anything to get the job done, something that many many entrepreneurs have failed to do in the past and for that I commend you. Here's to many more years of Edison's success 🎉 -Austin

Massive congratulations to Chace and Eric for an incredible achievement. From "Carl" to a working prototype in one year is a truly amazing journey. And now comes the hard part ... scaling up. Faster would be better, but going public has a bunch of issues. Angel investor is great if they don't screw up the company dynamics or interfere. Watching with interest, wish I could help! ... A while back Amazon bought a warehouse robotics company named Kiva to guarantee that ONLY Amazon would have access to their products. CUMMINS bought MERITOR. Typical big-company anti-competitive move - if you don't know who is killing North American manufacturing, you just need to look in the boardrooms.

Love what you guys do, Wish I didn't live 7 000 km on the other side of the Atlantic or I would definitely come help out with both software and hardware knowledge. One thing that popped in to my head just now, looking at your videos. The diesel generator will cool off in between runs I guess, however, could it be possible to use the heat from the battery cooling system during the engines off time, even though it is not as hot as the engines working temperature, just to be a bit more gentle to the engine and possibly increase the life span. I have not given it a thorough thought yet but it just popped in my head and I figured someone could argue against me and see where the thought might lead :) And yes, I know the work needed to do this probably isn't worth it.

Actually I think that is a chipmunk, squirrel have a bushier tail and larger body. I like that you do these type of segments outside, we get to see the beauty of the outdoors. If this was one of the big boys doing this project, it would be behind 30 foot barbed wire topped fences, inside a high security building, and total media blackout. Noone would see anything till the prototype was completely built and then unveiled at some huge press event. But Noone would be able to get up close to it. Then it will disappear back into the high security shop to get the major systems installed and working. Then do testing to see if it actually works. Probably taking 6 months to do what you did in the last week. Plus having 2 dozen different high level, high security meetings to talk about about each detail to death. They would probably have a three day meeting just to argue about all the cables management issues. Where you guys just went ahead and ran everything and figured it out as you went. They would have announced a production date at the press conference, and then move it back 3 or 4 times as they run into problems and delays. With millions if not billions of dollars of cost overruns. You guys are staying under budget. 🎉🎉🎉😇😇🤩🤩 Keep up the good work guys.

It would be awesome if you could lease a truck by the week or month. To get ppl interested in buying. Surely someone owns the old diesel to press cab parts for older trucks, it would be awesome if you could get those for a 70''s-80's Pete, or KW, can just modify it slightly, maybe put large windows in the bottom of the doors,a flat roof and large sleeper. Of course a Edison nose, maybe slightly different fenders for a Long haul model, getting the cab parts stamped should not be too expensive, the dies will be a cost up front, then a cab maybe $150-$200, each, then assembly, 18 gauge steel, a alloy with nickel maybe, basically a low grade stainless, to prevent rust , and the frame may be possible to only double rail at the axels, being there is no tq twisting from the engine, the 5th wheel, and the axels twisting, with a slight load between the front and rear axels! Just bulky x members at the double/ single line, and in the rear doubled area, Soo interested in seeing what the future has for you guys!! ✌️😎👍

Totally agree. Although, I wonder if there were manufacturers in Europe, South America, or other other parts of Asia that were possible fits before going to China, not that manufacturing in China is neccessarily a problem, you can get any quality you want (if you pay for it) and no Chinese Communist Party involvement in the manufacturer if you do your due diligence, but there are alternatives to China that simplify and avoid some of the potential issues.

Your mission... If you get a chance to meet Robert and Dan at the Fully Live Show can you beat it into their heads... What are Jake Brakes for and that trucks do not 100% use their friction brakes to slow down esp when going downhill! I told them for the last 3+ years their understanding of commercial vehicles is a weakness and getting basic stuff wrong makes them look like idiots! To smooth things over you can explain to them how much regen the trucks make load and unload and how you can change that. Also, you can limit charging to the batteries before starting a shift because you have a steep descent that will dump a lot of charge/current back into the batteries! Talking to someone who maxed out their battery on a downward grade and thus lost regenerative braking was not a fun experience for them
