Given the close interplay between where you are positioning your shoulders and the helmet, I would also believe that these results could be impacted by helmet choice. Perhaps with a different helmet other than the Dark Helmet replica from SpaceBalls, you could have seen a negative impact.

I have no idea how all the UCI geometry rules work, or about top level TT'ing for that matter, but can you not achieve a similar tuck in a slightly higher and more comfortable position rather than having to go so low (by moving to a larger frame with a taller head tube or just using taller risers)? With ever-shortening crank lengths, I assume your saddle gets incrementally further above the headtube to add to the fact you're quite tall to be on a medium (or maybe not in the pro world). I know Remco has the proportions of Gimli, but his chin looks above the level of his saddle in his full tuck. Loving the videos, by the way, and enjoying using Nopinz.

This is a great series! On this particular type of position, how long before someone is using a camera, mirror or periscope built into the helmet or bike? Or is that already banned by the UCI?

Can you test the best Road bike position?, Like Long and low, short and low, with spacers under the stem with right length. Hand on Drops, Hoods ecc😅

you've spoiled the helmet testing a bit, with your review of the TT 5 on the specialized website 😄

I did this on a final run with Aerocoach and it dropped my CdA loads. It was awful for however many laps of the track I had to do at relatively low power. Not sure I could make it rideable even for the track IP or even the TT.

I'm most surprised that you're "only" 0.209.... Is that number representative of your CdA during your WT career/hour records etc? Cheers

I actually tend to ignore the number any testing venue gives you as they’re all different. My only focus is on reducing that given number on that given day and taking the results to the next test to use as baseline even if the number on that day is higher. I’ve had anything from 0.23 to 0.17 in different testing venues. The important thing is getting as aero as you can ☺️

@@AlexDowsettOfficial Have you ever done the same range of position tests at different venues to see if what one venue calls a gain is also a gain at a different venue?

Could taping be used to hold shoulders in position. Like remco.

For sure, I mean I don’t know if that’s the purpose for Remco, always a bit of a UCI grey area the tape, I.e. Dane’s in the Olympic Team Pursuit 2021
