Her voice here is totally what Gillian Anderson emulates in The Crown

Not all tories are royalists. Admittedly, none of them have a strong commitment to democracy, so they have that in common with royalists and they both worship money but some conservatives resent the fact that someone other than themselves is receiving public money in return for nothing; they're not opposed to it on principle - they don't have any principle - but if someone is going to be the ultimate talisman of the idle rich, they want it to be themselves, not someone else.

To me a feminist doesn't have to shout or wear pussy hats. Thatcher was a force to be reckoned with. She didn't make it about gender; character knows no bounds.

Except Gillian Anderson who is playing Thatcher when she was 25 years younger than shown here does not capture the younger Thatcher well at all. if you don't believe me, have a look at the many videos here on KZitem.

@@davidlondon9696 yes you are right... She captured Thatcher's voice towards the end of her tenure in the late 80s... But when she told the word 'mam' then it sounded like Gillian...

Thatcher had power and actually did things. The Queen's only power is to dissolve parliament; she can't appoint a Prime Minster.

Officially she has many powers that can be used for either good or evil but she barely uses any of them.

@Daniel Clark Clark My apologies, I should have worded that better... What I really should have said, is that Parliament cant even be prorogued these days without some clown taking it to court

Going back to the original post here that says the Queen cant appoint a PM, is that actually true, I thought she had the power to appoint who she wanted as PM, but as we are a democracy, she asks the Leader of the Election Winning Party to form a Government

It wasn't, that's nothing more than speculation. The reason the Queen has been such a successful monarch is that she never voices or expresses any political opinion. We don't know how the Queen felt about Maggie, and we won't know until decades after she's dead.

I know, Mathieu Leader. The press has given you the impression that the relationship between the Queen and Thatcher was strained despite absolutely no proof. Talk about perception.

There probably was tension between them at times, they were the 2 most powerful Women in the World at the time, but the fact is, we will probably never know what The Queen really thought of Lady T

Trashing the royal family after everything they are doing for many people out there. The charity they are organizing makes a difference for many out their. They really don’t deserve this trashing at all.
