There are so many pickleball mantras or cliches out there like forehand takes the middle, middle solves the riddle, just get your serve in etc....
One of those is also "hit it deep". Well, if your opponents are back at the baseline than this is usually a great idea but if they are anywhere other than there and you try to get that ball deep you will probably pay.
If you try to hit the ball deep and your opponent is inside the court around 3 feet inside the baseline or closer then your deep shot will probably be high and you will pay because they can now hit down on the ball.
