I am super happy to see optic prices going down. Same with lever guns, Henry makes one for cheap that is super fun and reliable. Pistol conversion kits are neat. I've never understood buying expensive EoTech or Trijicon sights. While I understand the appeal of the history and design, I don't understand why people are adamant on buying something so wildly overpriced and unnecessary. I see so many shooters buying expensive optics, but all they do is irregular plinking. The majority of cheaper optics and sights are offering very similar products, with very similar performance and lifespans, but at significantly cheaper costs. Not saying you need to buy an Amazon special, but you don't need an EoTech that costs as much as the gun you're putting it on, but offers nearly nothing over other dots on the market As someone who's really into 1800's-1900's style firearms, it's exciting to see affordable lever actions in the market, especially for .22lr. I think they're wonderful plinkers, and I'm glad that we're getting ones that aren't $800+. My only gripe is that pretty much none of the companies making them offer both sides loading, and threaded barrels, it's always one or the other. People clearly love 22lr as a suppressor host, and nearly everyone prefers side loading because it's more convenient.

Hey Deve- I really liked your comment around 13:00 about how the difference in politics between you and the folks from Bishop Firearms did not prevent you from sharing a common interest and spending a lot of time talking about it. This is an example of how we get start to get our county back together. Find areas where we can agree on things and use those as a base for building relationships. Check out the book, "Republican Like Me: How I left the Liberal Bubble and Learned to Love the Right" written by Ken Stern, former CEO of NPR. We don't have to agree on everything, but I bet we can find a lot of small areas where we can agree and only then can we really start having meaningful conversations with each other. I suspect that you and I would not agree on everything ourselves, but I have to admit that you have taught me a great deal (beyond the technical stuff) and I find my 50+ year old self looking at situations very differently than I did in my youth. This is one of the most wholesome things I've ever seen on KZitem, and that word disgusts me. I have always been a fan of the CAA things and FAB Defense pistol chassis. Those always seemed ideal for a home defense situation if you have to check something out. Your pistol is more stable. You can add lights, lasers, whatever. It really doesn't matter what people should do or what the ideal or recommended course of action is. People are going to do what they do. People who buy a gun for home safety aren't likely to go train regardless of what they are told. If there is a problem, you want to be able to deal with it. If there isn't a real problem, you don't want to accidentally shoot grandma when she finally shows you that you can't put off the alzheimers assessment any longer.

Native Mandarin speaker here, I think "Chongqing Jizhou" may be the mystery manufacturer here. They are the company behind Tristar branded optics. That said, great effort, Deviant. The booth rep may have said "Chongqing Jishu" due to their regional accent. Even people born and raised in China can have noticeable accents due to the layering of influences from their mother dialect and regional variations on pronunciation of Mandarin syllables. Different language, but it's analogous to how Mexican, Puerto Rican, and Iberian speakers of Spanish can say the same written word in ways that sound very different to someone less experienced in the language.
