It's not so bad but most realize soon how hard fighting really is. It's why do many try to cheat the weight to get an advantage. It really is complicated, and frustrating, because you got 2 guys who weigh 185lbs, and kill themselves to weigh 170lbs for a day, so they can fight at "170" when they're really both 185. The guy who got to train properly cause his close to his natural weight. Not to mention at least 1 fighter died from motivation to loose weight. you think uncle dana doesn't have his hands in the odd .scam ,the same man who uses fighters to make a fortune and leaves them on their own to deal with medical issues And underpays them by a big money gap from other sports. Which alot of those issues are created by constant weight cutting . All I know I got atact by a man who would be a heavy weight about230 and I weight about 130 pounds and was still able to give him both black eyes and a cut under one. I once chewed up a habenero and spit it out while cutting weight. I guess I put my mouth guard in during that sesh cuz after making weight at the tournament I put my mouth guard in and it still had pepper residue in it lol

I would have weigh ins on Monday and Friday. That would force fighters to be within 5lbs of their division. Cutting 20lbs twice on a week is not good for you. But 5lbs is nothing

Ronda didn't cut weight though. She is 5'7 and 135 is the exact weight for that height for a person in shape with her body type. If anything she lost like 5 to 10 pounds at the most. How would that have ever worked for Hendricks?

Ronda has always been a little chunky when not training. I could see her weighing 155-160lbs easily. That’s just me though, maybe I’m off.

@@devinburkett9036 how precious, claiming dominant ufc champions are "terrified". It's literally part of the sport. Fig and Yan are huge for their divisions, Ngannou has to cut to make heavyweight. GSP was also huge at the time. Cutting all that weight isn't a 100% automatic advantage though.... there are compromises that come with that process.

I'm not a fan of weight cutting but i think we can all agree we wouldn't want there to be a scenario where we have a vast number of weight divisions like boxing.
