Sorry, but as a chronic Goodreads user, I can now only understand book commentary in the form of horrifically outdated gifs, recycled slogans, and emojis. Um, also “plagiarism”? Could you maybe slow down with the icky big words? Talk about academic much?

That Hughes story is LEGENDARY. One of my favourite stories of author fuckery. Not quite a good as A.J. Finn pretending to have brain cancer, but not far off.

You clearly don't read enough unpopular books. When I look at my 10 worst according to Goodreads, the highest rating is 3.05 😆 You beat me on lowest rating though. (Unless you count the one I have with 0 stars. Yeah, I didn't know how to rate it either. Just backed away and left it blank.)

Eep! I have tried 2 Anne Tylers and I just can’t get into her work! I can do Patchett or Munro or Lamott, but unsure as to why this white woman doesn’t work for me 😭

On behalf of my fellow female English Lit majors, and especially those of us who had to read Margaret Atwood, thank you for that stunning opening.

haven't read anne tyler in a while but she's never let me down the billy budd book and film are great and still can't believe they didn't find mellville's manuscript until the 1920s one of the big complaints about moby dick is the author throws in everything but the kitchen sink which is my main excuse for not reading it yet actually trashed the finkler question before reading it and now feel better about it only read one book by handke it was unintelligible crap but maybe it was the translation your story about the dogs book was very funny though never heard of hughes⚛😀

I'm not going to read The Dogs. Sorry. I liked Treacle Walker a lot so people are so wrong about that.
