In this edition of The 180, host Marcia Franklin talks with Risë Collins. Collins, who lives in Boise, is a retired social worker now studying for a Masters degree in creative writing at Boise State University. She discusses several essays she's published about racism and the continued trauma it causes for African-Americans, including her.
She also talks with Franklin about the many changes she's made in her life, including one of the students who integrated a Houston high school, performing in a Broadway play, and moving over 50 times. She also shares the strategies that have helped her get through tough times.
