Oh man, I owned this exact same make and model and year and color back when I was in high school in the early 80s. I sold it for $500 when I left Dodge City, Kansas, to attend college in eastern Kansas in 1985. Biggest mistake of my life. I still dream about the car and wish I had it back.

Love these. I had not one but two 69 Firebird Ram Air III 400's in High school. Boy oh boy do I ever still regret selling them. So much wish I kept one. And the one that had dark blue interior, have yet to see another one with that interior color. Also, loving the Scream'n Eaton, robust little blower they are .. I loved the sound and power my 03 Cobra came with as an OEM.. Awesome Formula here and whomever the new owner is will have a total blast

I think those 2nd gen firebird and camaros with no spoiler look like the last car built on a Friday. 25 yrs ago I went down to arizona to purchase a rust free 70 camaro but that deal fell thrrough. I Stumbled on a 72,000 original mile 1971 T/A 455HO and bought it, wish it had the manual trans. This T/A had a rust hole in the trunk lid under the spoiler. The car came with a extra trunk lid, sure did look like that trunk lid came off of jim rockfords firebird.😀

Awesome Formula. I've seen this color in person and it really pops. This same color is called Citrus Green for the 1970 Camaro and is also one year only. A few years back Powernation did a restoration on a 70 Camaro RS/SS and they reshot it in that exact color and it was stunning. BTW I've always preferred the Formula over the T/A, you could get the same drivetrain and handling components of the T/A in a less ostentatious wrapper, though the 70-75 Formula hood is more sinister looking than the T/A (imo).

A real interesting twist about the 1970 formula is that it wasn't supposed to have that hood. The twin scoops were supposed to go on the Trans Am as an evolution of the 1969 hood, but the engine/carb configuration for Trans Am racing circuit didn't fit under that hood, so the shaker hood was used instead. And thus for street versions.
@Tiffany.1970

Wrong the 1970s firebird formula 400 had the twin forward facing ram air scoops ...... Which were functional on the firebird formula
@bkehlin

@@Tiffany.1970 My first comment might not be clear to you. The Trans Am was supposed to have the twin scoop hood, but had to switch to the shaker to accommodate the engine build, so the Formula got the twin scoop instead.

To bad u couldn’t get Pontiac rally’s in that size and have the original seats I don’t know if the steering wheel is I doubt it. I love the old thin steering wheels nowadays all fat steering wheels don’t feel good n the hand.other then that I could live with it. I love Pontiac to like to keep as close as factory as possible I owned a 68 I should’ve have never sold it. But I moved far n the country and gas ate me up and it’s far from a off road vehicle, so I bought a 4x4 Tacoma 96 a yr old and still have it today with antique plates on it and it don’t even burn oil with 236,000 miles on it.
