For anyone wondering more about what this song is about... In an interview i watched Matty said this was written for his brother. His brother is younger then him and after his parents divorce he felt as though lost in the mix was how is brother was coping with it. And since the band was about to go big and start touring he could no longer be around as much to look after him. So as a personal message Matty through this on the end of the album so his brother would know.... One of if not THE most emotional voices on a track that I've ever had the privilege to listen to. You can tell it pains him to sing it.

At about 52 seconds, you can listen closely and hear someone calling someone. It's stupid, but it sounds like my mum saying 'Isabella'. It also kind of give a rawness to it. I can picture it being recorded in a bedroom quite a rough city or something. Idk, I just picture someone sitting on a windowsill in London and looking over. I love this song, I have such a deep connection with it that is almost unexplainable. It's so short but so, so powerful.

Coming back to the song after forgetting it since Senior year of high school, being 24 now, I’m literally trying not to cry bc I feel like I’ve lost so much of myself and the sudden memories of when I was SO much more passionate and loving and open to life, between them and now are an entire saga of love and loss that make for an shocking contrast. I used to have feelings all the time, now not so much anymore as life has taken a toll on my soul, to the point where I know my younger self would be devastated to find out what I’ve done with my life. Life is too beautiful and incredible to sit and do nothing, however. Pain is only suffering if you are stagnant- pain is a wonderful thing as long as you use it to better yourself.

Josie Leonard Listen, you were 10 years old. Remember one thing, we all do mistakes and we all have regrets at some point of our lives, but we have to let them go in order to learn what these mistakes we made for. And they were made to teach you a great lesson. It's sad but allow yourself to be human, try to see the positive (maybe this part of your life will help you not repeat that mistake with someone else, who knows) and thank your dad for the lesson he left you. Hope this helps! ;)
