This song is absolutely beautiful. Feels like 3 different sections to the song that work so perfectly together. There isn't any specific highs or lows but the whole song takes you on such a melodic journey that it just hits you in the feels. I started listening to this band back when they first released chocolate. Each album has a few absolute gems on it that will go to the grave with me. This band is special.

"He kinda looks like a cross between Brendan Urie and Andrew Garfield!" "......Yep" That was brilliant! I love this new sound for them whilst i do love when they do a big pop dance style song like say It's Not Living (If It's Not With You) I really dig this folky, Beatles/Coldplay/Bon Iver sound that they are doing on this track!

The 1975 are masters of instrumentals, and Matty’s singing voice drives it home every time. The melancholy pop GODS.

shocked I've not seen anyone else saying this but it reminds me a lot of Phoebe Bridgers (who Matty has collaborated with on several occasions)

U should react to more of the 1975.. they’re pretty multi-layered.. I highly recommend “love it if we made it” , “people”(u will love it) and “looking for somebody to love”

They’ve yet to disappoint me yet. Found them in like 2014 from Blunt Magazine. Loved them since, the debut and I Like It When You Sleep…. were incredible albums. Can’t say I’m still OVERLY in love with them like I was then but I always keep coming back to check out what they’re up to. This is an awesome song, so chill.

I've only heard 2 1975 Songs, so haven't really dove all the way in but this sounds very different from what I've listened to. The best part about this song for me personally, was the instrumental, love all the instruments that played in the background!

Everyone wants the old sound of the 1975 but the 1975 is unique and basically genre-less that’s what makes them unquestionably great, also this song is like Jesus Christ 2005 Godbless America From Noacf but the rest of the album had different sounds for each song but I absolutely love this track I don’t expect them to go full with just this sounds I’m diff expecting different more fast driven songs aswell!

What a beautiful track. I was a fan before this album, but now, I'm really really digging this band. Also, perfect reference to the Beatles as I've always thought the same thing. I feel like we're watching/listening to Art.

Its a breath of fresh air to have a band that is actually critical of the real faults in todays culture. Opposed to how the overwhelming majority of bands in at least the states these days just feed into the ego of the self rightous lunatics on social media.

Wow! I felt the Beatles vibes, totally, but actually the song reminds me of Peter Broderick - a very interesting and unconventional artist I hardly suggest. Anyway, I like them but I can't consider myself a fan, yet I love that! The film clip is perfect for the lyrics and you guys described the work perfectly: it is about storytelling and its bittersweetness is well reflected both in the melody and the video. Great evaluation guys, you're the best! p.s. Johnny didn't miss the variation for the bridge like he generally does with the breakdowns

Just my opinion but I feel like the 1975 got some mainstream attention and now they take themselves way too seriously. Now every song is “such a powerful mean” 😂. It’s a decent song but I’ll pass.
@JoshBlanksby
2 жыл бұрын
I'm confused by this logic, genuinely curious what you mean? Is it wrong for artists to want to say something with their art or be "serious"? And surely if their mainstream attention got to their heads then surely they would be making bland radio hits?

From a 1975 mega fan... Really wasn't a fan of a lot of their last album, just too much Americanised kinda country influence for me.. I feel like they were really British but went away from that last album and this is very much a carry on.. So personally was disappointed and still am.
@Charlixcxofficial

i mean the whole premise of the album was to kinda “mock” classic american country music, and he even said he found the juxtaposition between the lyrics and the melody funny??? people that dislike notes dont know the context!!!
