To be honest, I have had both. I returned the Razer keyboard because my razer chroma custom lighting effects did not save and would not work with playstation. That is the only reason that I returned it. Many people would argue, and yes, it still functioned as a regular keyboard, but when you are paying $160 for a keyboard, you would want every aspect for it to work. If you have a console, the answer would automatically be the steelseries apex pro or apex pro tkl. The ability to record macros, and have on-board lighting effects is the deal breaker for me. The OLED screen is very useful and good to have on the keyboard. If you have a PC however, you get a choice. The razer keyboard has more settings to play around with, and the switches are quieter. But if you care about the omnipoint switches the most, and i personally love them, get the steelseries apex pro or apex pro tkl. Hope this helps!

Razer’s synapse garbage is the reason I quit buying their products a while ago. They try to market the cloud as the best solution to carrying over your settings but onboard memory would do the same thing. They think they’re slick but all they want to do is entice people into installing their software on any PC that they might plug their gear into.

Excellent comparison, mate! I bought the 2023 version of the Apex Pro TKL. It has a detachable USB-C cable, but not a USB pass-through. Best new feature is the dual activation function. You can assign 2 different actuation settings per key. I set the W key at 0.2 for standard and 2.0 for running in games. There have been some complaints about Steelseries' LEDs failing after 12-18 months. Guess I'll find out after a year's use. I replaced the stock caps with a set of low profile white PBT caps. I love the white, but they get smudgy awfully fast. I'm getting a Dolch set of PBT caps which should resist the smudgies better than white.

I disagree with the title, it should be; The 2 BEST TKL Gaming Keyboards! The Wooting 2 HE is everything the Steelseries Apex Pro could've been but isn't. Therefore it is the best keyboard on the market, both feature, and quality-wise. Wooting has yet to make a 2 HE TKL version hence why the title would be correct if changed to TKL instead. I'd say IMO but the 2 HE is simply better in every way. Don't get me wrong both boards are fantastic, but I know the moment keyboard manufacturers realize that HE (hall effect) switches could be and will be so much more in the near future, the entire market will change. The features of the Wooting 2 HE are just the tip of the iceberg.

Yea i wanted the wooting 2he/60he, but the availability just killed it for me. I bought my apex pro tkl in december cuz I didn't wanna wait 3-4 months until April for wooting to make and ship my keyboard on preorder, just seems like too long of a time considering that I only had my trash membrane keyboard from a prebuilt. Honestly, apex pro switches are quite light (in a good sense), so it's not easy to lightly register them anyway. When I play cs go, I tend to press them fully. It might work for kids with gentle hands perhaps, but it's harder to press the keys gently than to the full. Maybe it's not a question of how lightly you press them, but how rapidly it registers, so theoretically faster actuation could increase speed in gaming.

These are competitive keyboards if your playing casually idk why you looking at 150$+ keyboards if you have a competitive level keyboard your likely have a competitive level headset and play on a competitive level so I ask the the duck so you care about sound… I will never understand the thought process behind comparing custom built keyboards to top tier gaming keyboards anyways I had the huntsman mini the tkl v2 realistically is just a bigger very slightly improved version i main the apex tkl pro and it’s just better imo

Custom keyboards are so much better than prebuilt since you can customize pretty much everything about it. The only selling point of prebuilt mainstream keyboards over custom are software, availability and price.

@@WindowLife. True. Razer Optical switches is so good for competitive games. I have custom built keyboards but I mainly use my Razer Huntsman TE. Feels much smoother and responsive. The only thing I don't like is the sound but I use headset while gaming anyway so I don't really mind.

I have had both of these and i get rid of the apex asap, out of box ist so heavily trash it’s disgusting. Keycaps abs full trash, the „kling“ and stab sounds are awful. In my country the apex is 170€/150€, and no dude for that prise i dont want to SPENT anymore money to „make it better“. In conclusion pbt caps were 35€ glube or whatever 18€, thats 53€ MORE money to a 150€ keyboard, i mean cmon … . The razer v2 tkl is in comparison a banger, in stock it beats the apex 100 times in every possible way , if you only lube the stabs ist all fine and you dont need to upgrade it anymore, its a lot cheaper aswell at 125€ so i am all the way razer and not a fanboy. Steelseries have made me really upset do to its poor materials and really fake marketing a la „best in blabla“ no it’s definitely not. (Sry for my bad English)

@@fr-tj5gb I disagree with the title, it should be; The 2 BEST TKL Gaming Keyboards!
