About this video:
In this video I interview Richard Halberstat, the Director of the Kadonowaki Elementary School Ruins, and discuss the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami to get a better idea of the Japan tsunami before and after 2011 and learn about the area today. The video was filmed completely in Ishinomaki, Miyagi at the Kadonowaki Elementary school memorial. In the interview we discuss the initial disaster in 2011 and how Richard Halberstadt is connected to the 2011 Japan Earthquake and tsunami. Then we discuss the lingering impact of the Japan tsunami and earthquake, and finally we discuss the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami recovery and how it has been progressing. At the end of the video we also cover how people can help Japan recover from the disaster. More specifically how people can help the city of Ishinomaki, which suffered the most casualties out of any part of the coast of Japan.
When we think about the Japan earthquake today, we may forget that many families lost their child, parents, friends, homes, and so much more. So I want to thank you all for watching this video, and for anyone who contributes to helping this area recover, even in the smallest of ways.
