I've been heavily involved in Honda/Acura world for nearly 20 years. Two major issues with this car. 1 - Honda continues to strip cars to help Acura sales. They took away V6 in the Accord to help TLX sales. They took away from Si what it already had (heated seats, adaptive dampers and fog lights) to boost Integra sales (which they only made 6MT on the most expensive trim to further push you away from Si). They intentionally dumb-down engines in Hondas to boost Acura (2016 Accord Sport had same engine as the TLX 2.4 and ILX 2.4 but Accord had 189hp vs 200+ in Acura). Then there's the Canadian models. Same thing happened with the 10th Gen Accord; Sport in US was based on LX while Canadian Sport was based on EX. This current Si in Canada gets fog lights, turn signals in mirrors, heated front AND rear seats, dual climate controls, parking sensors front AND back, digital gauges, etc.). And when converted into USD, it's cheaper in Canada (26K USD vs 27K USD in US). There's absolutely no excuse to remove heated seats, adaptive dampers and fog lights that the 10th Gen had - and jack up the price while taking away what was essentially thousands of dollars worth of equipment. I could go on but you get the idea.

Couldn't have said in a better way. My lease on 2.0T Accord 6-Speed was up and only choice I got right now is a Civic Si as Honda took away manual from Accord but I jumped off the Honda boat. Not going to pay almost same for a Si what I paid 3 years ago for a loaded Accord.

One color, wth! Civic red always hot. Gloss interior trim, when will they learn? It's just not necessary in a car that is so practical. Love how you always wish they added those extra cost "options" when vehicle costs are already ridiculous. Classic reviewer wish list creep.

We have the 2022 SI in Canada here. It’s silly to see how very much is included on the CAN version over the US version. Heated seats/ steering wheel, shift lights, dual climate. Wireless charging…. Not sure why they didn’t make them both the same. I think they also cost less after conversion too. I dunno. 🤷🏼♂️

there's also something known as tax and import and pricing cars with respect to purchasing power, gti in Canada is some 5000 US dollars cheaper in direct conversion rate, same with Elantra, alot cheaper in Canada. But Civic si is only 300 USD cheaper because they added extra equipment on it instead of making it ridiculously cheap in Canada like other car makers. Just look at Canada's golf and Elantra prices and convert them to USD, youll see the huge price difference. Like Do you actually even live in Canada, this happens with many cars there? Did you not know about that before?

I am an Honda/Acura fan ALL day and I feel that you can take the car to grave and back, but what the heck is going on over at Acura??? If there was EVER a time that two divisions of a company needed to be separated and run completely independent of each other Honda/Acura is proof. For example, why does the Integra have Honda Interior? Why does it look like a Civic? Honda/Acura chose to use almost the exact same bodystyle/Interior as the Civic instead of putting the necessary money into the Integra and creating something different OR atleast not using the same damn interior. With the every Honda vehicle from the Si, Accord, Civic, CRV, you can clearly see that Honda has a vision for their cars and where they are trying to go. Acura...has the Integra,TLX,MDX, and RDX. Two cars and two SUVs. The Integra is the more expensive and somewhat luxury version of the Si and the TLX is the more expensive luxury version of the Accord.. I have answered my own questions......Acura is not trying to be innovative, they are trying to provide alternatives to their Honda counterparts. BOOM! 😄😄. The ONLY innovative car they have produced within the last 10 years is the NSX and 97% of Acura’s customer base can't afford it. Unless Acura makes some drastic changes, they are not going to make it....

Well if you dyno the car it shows 224 hp and with a mild tune you’ll get another 70 hp so yes with a tune your looking at 294 hp

Do the gauges both go blank when you turn the car off? Then it’s fully digital, whether or not both sides have variable info displayed. Youths today have never seen actual analog gauges.

Honda is lying for marketing and insurance purposes. It makes 220hp to the wheels. It has much more power. And still gets 35-40 mpg
@Vladg111
2 жыл бұрын
No it's not lying, it actually makes 200 HP to the wheels according to most of Dyno videos I watched. There's only a confusion, 220 HP is at the crank not wheel horse power
@rohanm54

@@Vladg111 oh. The dyno videos I watched all said they made at least 200+ to the wheels. Like to the wheels. Not the crank. You sure? With the regular dyno as well as a hub mounted one.

@@rohanm54 ohh, I saw one from Ososik Media and some other one. They applied correction and got 195 HP to the wheels. To be honest 0-60 time would be faster if it had 220 HP I think. I believe there's a confusion of wheel horsepower and at the crank

I love your channel Sophyan BUT, here comes my big but… throughout the video you state that you expect more features in the Si. The Si starts at around $28k and if we go back to what the Si from yesteryears brought was that: simplicity and relative performance on a budget. A 1989 Si was sold new for about $12k back then and when you factor inflation guess what, it is about $28k of today’s money! How do we expect manufacturers to keep prices relatively affordable if we want our cars with everything on them? 🤷🏻♂️

Shockingly cheap: no heated seats, no heated mirrors, no blind-spot monitoring, no dual climate, no wireless charger, no heated steering wheel, cheap hard plastic all over, no rear vents, no rear heated seats, no rear usb ports, no type-c ports in the front, no wireless updates for the infotainment, no adaptive suspension, no fog lights, no parking assist, manual seats, rear seats from LX parts bin, I mean just wow...and then to add insult to injury, they put a auto start/stop in a 1.5 manual car. What a travesty. The fact these are selling for 5-10 thousand over msrp is mindboggling.

Honda’s cars in the US are low on accessories and options because they compete with their own other brand; Acura. Nowadays the Acura brand sells cars almost exclusively in the US. There is no Acura in the European market and in South America. Their own legend there is sold under the Honda brand. So in order to sell the overpriced acuras, Honda is stripping down and downgrading their own models name brand inside the U.S. In other countries where Hondas cars are exported straight from Japan, those models come with more standard options because Acura doesn’t exist there. Americans are paying a price to have the 2 brands available ( Honda/Acura ).

If it had all the things the Integra has, and whatever else he's complaining it doesn't have, it wouldn't be a 27,000 dollar car. They had to compromise something to offer everything it actually does have, such as all the safety features that higher line models have for the price they sell it for. And the true mileage the car gets is actually better than what they advertise. In town I'm getting 32 and on the highway I get 44 with the cruise set on 74. I don't know what's wrong with the car they gave him. I run 89 in mine with no knocks even in sport mode. I bought the car because I wanted a new Honda, at the top of my list of wants was a manual transmission , and it was what they had on the lot. These days, you buy what you find thats in your price range , because you're lucky to find anything at all, new or used.
