Okay, so the Passport Trailsport is really just a trim level that adds a more aggressive off-road look with better tires, but the Passport was already a pretty capable SUV when it first came out. Also, incase you're wondering... at 21:36 that was Joe Raiti driving when the front splitter scraped the rock. It wouldn't be a successful off-road trail without scraping something, right? 😂

Recently bought a Trailsport and love it. I've owned some really nice vehicles (Mazda CX-9, etc), but prefer my Honda. It has higher ground clearance than most cars and feels like a true SUV. High end tech or infotainment isn't for me. In fact, I think it's a waste of money. I feel the same about pano roofs. There is a market for those of us who prefer simplicity with some creature comforts.

This is really close to being a perfect mid-size SUV for Honda. The few upgrades it definitely needs at this price point, at least, for me and I would imagine plenty of others would be: Ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a little more coloring in the interior, even if it's just an orange seat belt option to match the trailsport logo. A heads up display and a 10.25" display for the center stack with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A home plug-in for the back and an option for The Bose system would be ideal. Then, I don't imagine you could go wrong if you're in the market or shopping in this particular segment. Great video once again, keep up the good work.

RAM14250 your critique for this review is comical. First you claimed “lots of errors” and only mentioned two. As far as heated rear seats, sofyan simply mentioned there were no heaters in the rear on that trim - which in no way lead me to believe they don’t offer that feature in higher trims. He was wrong about the direct injection - so as I see it, he made one error. As far as using the term “outdated” well that is subjective. I would also say this 2022 model is outdated as my 2017 Civic had the exact same infotainment screen and dash……one would assume 5 years later, Honda would have updated this for the Passport, so I’d say his comment holds merit. I absolutely love it...!!! However, some changes are needed. I just HOPE that future iterations of this new model. Particularly the EX-L and up trims allow people to choose the grey leather option on the sonic grey pearl exterior color. For right now from what i've researched only being able to choose from 3 color options; dark blue, silver, and white to get the grey interior leather is VERY limiting. And i think the pairing of grey interior leather with the exterior sonic grey pearl color would be stunning. Having just black too choose from is VERY VERY drab for an interior color option. I also think the grey leather would look stunning on the Trailsport with the orange contrast stitching and badging. It's the main reason i would choose an EX-L over a Trailsport as i simply do not like an all-black interior. And also, Honda needs to offer better options on the EX-L & Elite trims for tire choices. Having just 20in tires with the SUPER awful Continentals is ridiculous. I've read over at the Honda forums that if you want you can go from the OEM 265/45/50 to a 275/45/50 and that will give you a bit more sidewall for blazing non paved trail fire roads etc...And you can still keep your stock OEM rims. But most of all that opens you up too better and more tire choices. Such as an A/T tire like the General Grabber AT3 or the Firestone Destination LE3's. However, hopefully Honda will make these changes themselves so consumers don't have too. It's rather ridiculous of Honda to have a model labeled "Trailsport" but only make it "cosmetically appealing". And really no different than an EX-L or Elite trim. Considering they ALL use the same I-VTM4 AWD system. You can't "off road" Honda on 20in tires that’s just a fact. So either use 18in tires for every model Passport. Or pick a different 20in tire size to broaden people’s choices. It's really not that difficult for them to do. And i'd bet A LOT of folks would agree with me on all of this. So for 2023 please make these changes Honda...!!! Thank you.

Clearly you've never driven a car with a transmission done right. Automatic transmissions were never one of Honda's strong points and that remains true today. I just drove a Sonata with an 8-speed auto and it was one of the best transmissions I've ever felt. And I drove my Freind's Camry with a 6 speed about 4 months ago and it did not have that "bogged down" feeling and the engine was insanely responsive and revved up instantly. But for my CVT, I just really like how it reacts to situations...like even going up a big hill on the highway. Rather than having to shift down to keep the speed up, it gradually rises the RPMs to maintain speed. It’s FWD based AWD. The distribution system is FWD biased and doesn’t transfer power the way it should. Beyond pulling onto the beach or jumping a curb to park at little Timmy’s soccer game I wouldn’t plan on doing much more off-roading with this.

Absolutely one of the best AWD systems on the planet. You cannot find a more versatile system that would give you excellent dry pavement, wet/snowy pavement, and (good) off-road performance and safety.

Too expensive. It’s an awesome SUV. In my opinion , the best. But come on… you can’t price this thing over $40,000. Even used most of them are $37K-$40K. You can buy a used Pilot which is the same damn vehicle for less. It’s a great car. But it’s not priced correctly.

Honda is half arseing it again. They could have easily raised the vehicle with simple suspension upgrades and add some underarmor if it’s marketed as a “ trail” model. At least they made it look more handsome.

The street preferred Passport “looks” like an off-road vehicle. Every review points out the visual misrepresentation. There are 3 safety recalls, for the Honda Passport and many, many known infotainment updates & repairs available. It’s a black mark on Honda’s reputation.

Agreed. The Passport is overpriced. The 9 speed transmission is not made by Honda and Honda is trying to “software update” its problems away. The dash display goes dark, so no speedometer. The speakers continuously pop, with the radio off. The hood flys off and the backup camera blacks out. The Passport should be avoided, at any cost.
